That is probably the case but why is that important when it comes to supporting your national team?? Both Swansea and Cardiff in recent history have been run by more than questionable methods and both clubs have gone through patches where results have gone a bit pear shaped but did both sets of fans didn't take the '**** it' attitude and not bother with the clubs...NO they didnt.
No because they support the clubs more than the national team, things are tight for a whole lot of people, so if you had a toss up for which games to you watch, do you pay £25 to see your club against say forest, or Wales against Montenegro, or some other back of beyond team? Plus the fact that some people would have to come down from Wrexham, or maybe Anglesey or St Davids to watch the game!
I understand that money/travel etc stops people from going to the games and poor organisation from the FAW doesn't seem to be addressing this and giving cheaper tickets for these games to get the crowds in so fundamental changes to need to be made but what pisses me off more than most is even given that money is tight etc they dont give a **** on a basic fundamental level as in not caring about results or even watching them on tv for example. Ive had this discussion with people who said that they wouldn't watch wales even if they were giving the tickets away for free!! WTF!!
Thing its not just the ticket is it, say £25 for a ticket, then its the travel which quite possibly doubles that, then its the food drink & programme and so on, so to watch a game it costs £75 minimum for me, so no I wouldn't go to a game even if the ticket was free because I have other things to spend 5 hours of my time on.
Well cost will all depend on the individual in question e.g where you travelling from etc as im assuming you live a distance from Cardiff if its gonna cost you £25 to get there. For me it would be around approx £20-£30 with a free ticket. £15-£20 for a real no frills experience (and for people living in cardiff its even lower) by taking away the optional extras such as programmes which would mean it is likely the total price would be at the lower end of that, because if as you said money is a question of going then you don't need a programmme! Question is would people citing those reason for not attending happiily forget about them if Wales were playing great football and winning games? Im guessing yes in the majority of cases
Dan but they haven't been playing great football for years, when Hughes was in charge we would practically fill the stadium for every game, because they played with passion and people were excited to watch a game, even then we didn't qualify! But tossack and now speed are driving the punters away, there is no game plan just headless chickens running about, there is no feelings from the crowd who are a quarter the size from Hughes days, basically the average welsh football fan feels alienated from the country because of the FAW and the way they are running football in Wales, is it any wonder we are under the FA now ?
