Morning all. Getting the car MOT'd today so at dads ergo the limited access and posting.

The heavens have opened and its getting chilly here. Thankfully the bonfire kept me warm and dry too. Shame there was no more news, but i guess after all the spending, everyone needed a lie down!!

 

Well despite the lack of internet and anything decent on tv, i still managed to stay up till 4 this morning and then failed to sleep after watching "Devil" and the end of "Signs" combined with the dog howling at the other dogs and the rooster next door!!

 

oh dear...i wondered where you'd got to, what was wrong with your internet?

Afternoon - absolutely throwing it down in bandit country, got soaked getting supplies in at Tesco!

 

my son is on his way back from Manchester where he's been for a week doing work experience, on a train, feeling too crappy for words, cold, sore throat and a temperature..the hot water bottle is ready and waiting, as is all the good news about Watford lol...something has to cheer him up today! A while back he saw the Harlequin go past on the train, depressing moment coz he couldn't get off! lol

 

It must be the work experience time of the year - we have a load at work doing Excel bashing and PowerPoint production...

 

No line in for me, off to the vets with the dog for 9.

Been chucking it down all day on the sunshine coast, proper festival weather, pity the poor buggers at Latitude, which is just round the corner.

 

i think it is, a lot of his friends are on work experience too...he's home now

 

Aw, hope the dog is okay ...

Hornette - Hope he benefitted from it and got some good contacts for the future...that is key these days.
Little Miss W_Y starts a 4 week placement at a well known TV shopping channel next week - again good contacts

 

He certainly got a lot of out it, but it's raised lots of questions too...as to what he'll do after A levels. Lots of thinking to do...

Dog ok ta, just a check-up. We thought she had a stroke earlier in the week, but it turned out to be an ear infection. She is very old, ex police drug dog, but as mad as a box of frogs (probably due to drugs she has snorted in her career)

Finally stopped raining here too!

 

bless her...funny line about the drugs though

 

Hornette - Little Miss W_Y has 2 weeks training as a studio floor manager, 1 week shadowing a floor manager and in the last week has to manage 2 shows - great experience.

 

that's hugely exciting! She must be really looking forward to it! What does she want to do with it?

 

She seems fine now, fast asleep, curled up with the cat her basket.
