Yes but don't go over to saints web - loads of whinging on there. Tend to agree though - it's starting to come together. We thought we could walk it in the first half but a Koeman kick up the backside resulted in a high tempo second half. Targett improved with support from Mane and ended up having a really good game. Good performances all round really but for me the MOTM for his effort in yet another unfamiliar position was Yoshida. He gets better every time I see him.
Just seen their manager has said that time wasting was not a tactic and that Koeman was yelling at the ref every time they had a freekick or player down. I hope we absolutely thump them next week.
Yep we are looking better(esp the 2nd half) but feel we need Ryan back ASAP and when Jordy comes in he hits the ground with his feet running.
Ha! The reason I don't go on Saints Web anymore is that nearly everyone who posts here appears to be normal and rational and nearly everyone there appears to be irrational, loopy, an ex-tough guy or Alpine Saint. I can be a right pessimistic sod at times but most of that lot make me look like sunshine and lolly-pops.
Perhaps people gravitate to their own kind. I'm an optimistic sort of person (as long as Saints aren't actually playing ), but some who dare to suggest we are not God's gift to football (which we are of course) get savaged on here....in a polite toothless hamster manner. The opposite seems true on Saintsweb....obviously on there you fear they will discover your address.
There is also one guy, Dalek i think, who thinks his constant joke over the past three years that he will be happy with 17th and that relegation is always going to happen, is actually a good one.
Saintsweb is utterly appaling, whats worse is they are the default fan ambassador of Southampton to the interwebs. They move from confidence to despair to vocal rebellion within 2 goals and in general act exactly like the kind of crowd that typically gets parodied on TV or the net. It absolutely kills me to look at a opposing teams forum and seeing them using SW as a sort of guide to saints culture or fandom.
The problem is that there are more of them than us....perhaps they are a true reflection of the fans. Scary.
On saints web they just seem to want to attack the players/staff/board and then each other! Pleased to say I don't wander over there often, and certainly wouldn't pay £5 to join in either.
I think people will have differing views on who and whom played better,I have my opinions on various players which are different to some I've read, but all in all Saints need to put in a decent 90+mins game not a 45min Need to come out all guns blazing hopefully an early(ish) goal, but mainly need to be positive and hopefully try not to keep passing sideways or back so much.
I applied once and got rejected for some obscure reason, can't remember what it was something to do with method of isp contact, I spend most of my time Neggie bashing on the Echo web site, it gets a bit silly at times, there are some good contributors on there but a whole lot of bad ones.
Terrifying. Luckily i dont think they are more numerous, just louder. Saintsweb is the Missouri of the EPL, a tiny minority that makes up for its lack of numbers in shoutiness. Best thing for everyone is to ignore them or observe them from a distance like we do with apes in a zoo.
It is an awful place. I don't think any of them have ever played football. They come across as spoilt, armchair, "I want it, and I want it now" fans. Players aren't robots that get it right every week.
They wouldn't accept me either...they suggested I use a different e-mail address, but couldn't be bothered.
It is certainly interesting how everyone sees the game differently. The team were too slow first half but most individuals were good if you look at the 90. However, Fonte has terrified me in every game this year. He simply doesn't look himself...
Ron's mouth was tense and his eyes were tired all of which shows he is not enjoying life at the moment. He is struggling and the surgery hasn't helped.
Could be him personally or could be that the defence hasn't gelled yet. Hope it's the latter. Perhaps he needs a cuddle.
