I dont buy that. Cambiasso was too good for us and so is Gokhan Inler

He wasnt worth the risk with the fees for someone who might not have adapted to the Premier League

How do you know that Cambiasso would or that Inler will?

Aranguiz has outperformed Arturo Vidal in midfield and has been one of the best players in Brazil for some time now.

He certainly was too good for us, which is why he wouldn't come here despite our significantly higher offer. He's Champions League standard.

You won´t find to that many players (not inc top world class players so lets be resonable) to good for us if we keep doing well & have the cash backing we have.
Man City was a club with real problems before the big money take over. relegated to lge div 1 & in debt past their eye balls just like us.
Yeah o.k we ain´t won the lge or played champ lge football, but it all has to start from some where & KING POWER are building our castle brick by brick. We had a season in lge div 1 & we got out of the champ´ship so If things carry on, which from what I can tell they will, I can´t see why we can´t make the europe lge in the next couple of seasons like Southampton have done & after that who knows. Just some of my opinions.

If anything happens to Albrighton/Mahrez/Schulpp, we could go back to five at the back with Fuchs and De Laet at full back. Plenty of options if we don't sign another wide player.

Yeah but if a system is working it would be a shame to change it. Though if key personal are missing it you would have to maybe. I just feel like one squad player is missing to cover both flanks, who won't play much (hopefully) and that could have been Lawrence's role this season. Where does that academy lad - Harry panaxioultu (spelling!) - play, is it wing or up top? It could be him.

Was it him that scored an absolute worlds against us in pre season? We could do with a winger for cover so not a bad shout - for him I think he would be better to stay and play a full season and move next year

Watching match of the day last week, I do wonder if we should have completed the move for sako- if anything happens to mahrez then he is a real goal threat

Sako was better then I thoght he would be in the Premier League - am kinda regretting us not getting him as well.

Will have to pay through the nose for Gray though - Brum rejected £5M for him last season and he has since signed a new contract.

Bringing Sako on would have been a real weapon, such a goal threat. Whoopsie on that one.

Would probably be alot of money to pay for someone that won't make it into the team, yet it would be good to have a contingency plan in place if Mahrez or Albrighton were to get injured.

We seem to be amassing a pretty expensive bench, maybe we can get Logan back on a free <ok>

... wanted Sako ... exocet of a left foot.. Gray likely to be better... great potential... what a squad it will be if we got both Gray and Amartey ..

I personally don't think we need another winger.

Schlupp can be moved forward and Albrighton and Mahrez can play on either flank.

If they both get injured/suspended at the same time, we can always revert to 3 at the back and use the wing back system.

... the point is we are 'building' ... Gray is an amazing talent ... did Arsenal 'need' Walcott? ... this is investment strategy for the longer term ... as I've said before we are assembling the best squad at the club in living memory ...

Gray would be extremely expensive for potential imo, especially such well publicized potential, you don't develop a player who could cost as much as £8m.

CRs bought in players with quality now for less. We need to find another one similar to Mahrez from totally under the radar.

@RobTannerMerc: Reports tonight that #lcfc have met a release clause in Gray's contract at #bcfc. The clause was written into his new deal he signed in July

Oooooo drama! I still dream of waking up and finding that we have signed someone really obscure who I have never heard of or haven't even been linked with... but do I now have to accept that those days are gone?
