Tony Barrett webchat: On Sakho - He has to regain the manager's faith but he remains highly regarded by the club. It's a long season so unless he kicks up about being left out and demands a move, I'm sure his time will come.
So barrett is basically saying rodgers doesn't like him for whatever reason, be it he thinks he is ****e in a back 4 or he didn't work hard enough in his opinion or just plain doesn't trust him...... but others at the club rate him highly Manager and club are two different things. Either shako hands in request or hopes rodgers gets his.
hmmmmm bit of serious under rating of boht carrick... and the utd defence and most of all over rating of the teams tehy played so far. Spurs in fairness got out muscled by utd... MS was certainly a big part of that.. villa? brugges? inferior. Schneiderlin improves utd and van gaal is koeman the elder.. two guys screen a back 4 and just get the odd goal looking for pace to break with... how long til sides figure this stuff out and get the draws easily?
Nothing we didn't know but ... Barrett - For all intents and purposes, LFC's spending is done. They've got the players they wanted. Unless something expected comes up, LFC are not planning to much more. Having said that, if Lucas leaves, they'll need a DM.
Looked like a man with a point to prove with his cameo the other day, hopefully will keep working & turn into a very versatile player for us.
not according to prior chatter which was he would be sold if good offer came in. I don't see him anywhere good enough to play left wing... this is not Rafa and risse we are talking about... this is rodgers who loves lallana.
that seems foolish in the EXTREME. if theres a 2mil loan fee ok.. lucas isn't owrth more than 5/6mil.... but this blows LFC cos the midfield is too light in numbers to complete IMO.
Loan out Lucas for couple million fee and wages paid, buy in illarramendi and then sell Lucas for 5m next year when he enters last year of his contract. Maybe no one is offering s perm transfer and we want to get him off the wages (he's longest serving so prob earning 80k a week). If he's not going to play then that 80k is a lot of money to save
In perspective 80K per week for an entire year is just over 4mill. (he's not going to be gone 52 weeks though). It's neither a huge amount of money nor is it chump change. Unless we're also getting a loan fee it might be better to keep him for backup In case Can got injured.
