It's been bugging me for a while now. We always seem to be devoid of ideas. Last night Odubajo often had no one within 20 yards of him.
Surely when half the crowd is shouting "go to him!", you'd actually ****ing listen? Why are they so afraid of the ball. We are **** at throw ins, we have been for a while.
It was very noticeable last night. I'm not sure whether it was something tactical but it wasn't working.
It crossed my mind that it was some clever ploy by players to act as though no one knew what to do. Then I realised they really didn't know what they were doing.
maybe its a rule we can't take quick throws either, we have to wait for the opposition to get ready for it.
**** only knows - against Wolves, no-one within 20 yards of thrower and Jelli pointing to his head to indicate put it here - he has to be able to throw it that far first
We've been rubbish at throws ins for as long as I can remember, but we did have a little routine some years back that created a couple of goals, away at Darlington and and Bradford I think.
That's spot on - City are also poor at challenging opposition throws as well. It's a mark of how bad they've been that I also remember the throw at Darlington which created a neat move down the right and a cross for a goal. That was in the days of Peter Taylor.
We've been **** at throw ins for years - can't take them can't defend them. Does the f**king ball not go out in training?
I've banged on about this for the past few seasons. A throw in for us = the oppo getting the ball. No one moves for it. Drives me frigging mad it does. I actually cheer if someone moves and end up with the ball from our team.
We have been poor at them for a while, but last night was particularly bad. Ironically, we tended to do better with throw-ins when Rosie was playing.
We haven't had decent throw ins for many years - since Brian little I can remember our throw ins as "down the line".
We need to be doing more on the training pitch for me. Practising throw-ins, freekicks and corners. Our set pieces have been pathetic for years..
Trapping the ball as well. Chest down, or trapped by feet. Why is that no longer important? When you see a player do it nowadays you think "ooo great control", yet in my youth, if I didn't trap it, I'd get my ear chewed off. Heading the ball back, usually towards the other team, WHY FFS WHY!??? Oh and get the **** off my grass.
