I get $40 a day to spend on food (although pastry and finger foods given for breakfast/lunch at conference). Not sure how far $40 goes on NY. Where I am I couldn't possibly spend that much in a day eating out on myself. Can't buy alcohol with that $40. I have to pay for alcohol out of my own pocket
In an ideal world... No... If I go somewhere to eat I need to get an itemized receipt to get refunded. If alcohol is listed (if I get drink with dinner) they won't pay me back. I usually have to get a separate receipt for my alcohol.
