Following on from Archer's thread. Best music venue you have been to? For me, nothing could ever compare with the Glasgow Apollo. Special mention to The Barrowlands as well.
^^^^as if sharing a character with the **** in Jip's new book isn't bad enough, he shamelessly steals my patter too.
Handy for the Stanley casino anaw. Oote the gig inte the Stanley. Wee game of blackjack free toasty, cheap taxi hame. Joabs a goodun
The Rainbow, Finsbury Park. Now sadly a Pentecostal Church. Saw The Ramones there in 1977. The Dome (formerly the Lyceum), behind the Boston Arms in Tuffnell Park; was on the Irish diddly-diddly circuit in the 80s, but threw up some gems such as Johnny Thunders, Spear of Destiny, Alien Sex Fiend etc. Dingwalls on Camden Lock. Pretty **** venue really, but just about everyone from The Stranglers to The Drifters played there back in the day. Nowadays, being a man of culture and sophistication, I'm more likely to frequent The Jazz Cafe on Parkway, or Ronnie Scott's in Soho. Anywhere I can sit down really.
True,I liked Town & Country,Brixton Academy and The Mean Fiddler.I wouldn't know if they are still standing or probably renamed.
