He was probably unlucky not to get a foul there, you'll see much softer ones given in favour of goalkeepers this season. That said I hate that rule and am glad play was allowed to continue.

To be fair the subs seemed a little negative, if we'd gone on to draw or lose they would have been heavily criticised. Mcgregor was fixed to his line a lot and has always lacked decision making ability. The issue with coming down from the prem is people expect to win every week, very easy to lose sight of just how competitive the championship is. Where are you sat?

I'm just excited that we've scored in every game so far this season.

Im sure its been posted but I don't think Elmo's going anywhere. Stood right in front of him when he celebrated saying "staying here" it seemed to go on for ages. He was eyeballing me, got pretty awkward actually.

It took a late strike from Sone Aluko for Hull City to seal three points over Fulham at the KC Stadium last night. So with three league games under their belt how is Steve Bruce's squad shaping up? Philip Buckingham provides the player ratings.

Allan McGregor: Retained in goal after his awful error at Wolves and could not keep the clean sheet his confidence levels required. Couldn't hold a cross in the build up to Fulham's equaliser. 6

Moses Odubajo: A home debut for the £3.5m defender and he was quick to win admirers. Great purpose and desire both to defend and attack from deep but his manager may ask him to curb his instincts. 7

Michael Dawson: City's captain dominated Smith until his withdrawal and strolled through much of the game

until Fulham came to life in the final half hour. Dembele's impact certainly made life much more difficult. 7

Curtis Davies: Unlucky not to continue his recent good form with a goal when clipping the bar with a sweet half volley

but the second half was not always plain-sailing. Exposed by Richards before being bailed out. 6

Andy Robertson: (Starman) Gave Fulham all sorts of problems down the left flank and few will produce a better range of crossing at this level. One got its just reward when nodded in by Elmohamady in what was a terrific display. 8

Ahmed Elmohamady: Continues to be a key player in City's attack and a first goal since March set his side on their way. Could have been two when denied soon after but his involvement was never the same in the second half. 7

Tom Huddlestone: Speculation continues to link the midfielder with a move away but this was a reminder of his worth in midfield. Not for the first time in City colours, he exposed Fulham with his adroit passing game. 7

David Meyler: Preferred to Hayden after a bright cameo at Wolves and it was easy to see why as he took the game by the scruff of the neck during the first half. Impact waned after the break, but relentless all the same. 7

Sone Aluko: A first league start of the season and he was clearly keen to make up for lost time. Not an orthodox winger's role, making him elusive to the visitors, and he made amends for slack play in the equaliser with a cool finish to win it. 7

Chuba Akpom: City's bright young thing was again making a nuisance of himself and an unerring ability to find space gave Fulham all manner of problems. Began to tire after the break and perhaps preserved for Saturday. 7

Abel Hernandez: A surprise inclusion after serving a three-match ban and no questioning his attitude back in the side. Fought for most balls and struck the bar with the aid of a minor push. Withdrawn as fitness slowly faded. 6

From the Bench: Sam Clucas (For Hernandez 66) - had a half chance when nodding Meyler's cross wide of target. 6; Nikica Jelavic (for Akpom 73) - asked to give City's attack greater purpose and succeeded in setting up Aluko's winner. 6; Isaac Hayden (for Huddlestone 79) - played a significant part in city's winner showing great control out wide. 6; Not used: Jakupovic, Taylor, Maguire, Luer.

He made some absolutely superb touches, put in a shift chasing down and pressuring defenders, won the ball back a few times and caused a few problems but wasn't really in the game. That wasn't because he was ****, it was because he was playing as spear point and we just couldn't really get the ball to him much.

I genuinely do think if we manage to keep hold of him he could be a massive player for us.

That is really quite astonishing given the success you've had in that period.

With promotion and relegation generally comes fairly significant changes in personnel, so it's not really that surprising if it takes the new team a while to gel and we start seasons a little erratically.

Ref was poor last night as well.

Some very strange decisions for both teams.

Sounds like a decent player. We should get him in. Reckon £10m will do it?

He was ****, that turn that Akpom did was the best move of the game and he gave Fulham a free kick for it. <doh>
