Thanks Seriously though, he's not had s great start. He needs to learn that it's a long season and grow up a little as some of his actions recently have had even Chelsea fans <facepalm>Ing. Nobody doubts he's a great manager in his own unique way, most of us enjoyed his antics to a degree but sometimes you just have man up and say, "we were rubbish, the opposition deserved to win" instead of blaming everyone but yourself. That's what stops him being considered as one of the greats.
IF Chelsea are skint and Mourinho stays for another three or four seasons working with the squad he has and a limited budget for the duration, wins a hat trick of PL titles and a European Cup, then I will consider him SAF's equal. The reality is however that IF Chelsea are skint Mourinho will be offski pretty quickski. Which is why I find his constant digging at Wenger for his lack of trophy success particularly distasteful. No chance in hell Mourinho would hang around at a club if the owners told him that the new stadium was coming at the cost of limited transfer spending for 5 years. No chance at all!
So obviously you don't think Fergie was one of the greats then!! A man who would barely speak after a loss let alone admit another team outplayed his. Humility does not make a great manager, though it would be nice to see all top managers show a bit more of it. But maybe there is a direct correlation between winners and bad losers.
I'm sure if they offered Jose a big enough salary he might be able to stomach working on a budget! Poor Jose Poor Wenger had to stomach a bigger wage than Sir Alex to work on a budget and balance the books in the late 00s and early 10s. Poor Arsene!
Thanks for the offer but we'll keep our title on net spend and you can keep your competent displays for $300m spend
Fergie often congratulated the opposition when they beat us. The few exceptions being Bayern, Chelsea, Porto and Arsenal. he was respected by all other managers, he unlike Jose. That respect was earned because he was able to show it to others. Jose can't.
Jose only managed two of those sides. Fergie wasnt arsed about head to head, its a meaningless point anyway. He was only ever annoyed when he lost undeservedly.
Feuds with fellow managers like Arsene are prime example of how bad Fergie was when losing. Ofcourse he appreciated, s#!t managers like Sam, Dave et al. Only time, I liked them - Manures & Fergie were when they stood up to Goons in the early 2000s. But that was due to mutual conflict.
