Don't understand why we would only be getting one of Simunovic and Denayer!! Simunovic is very highly rated, but if ee did manage to get him, surely we would still be interested in Denayer too? A top defender like that for free is a no brainer.

I cannot believe Lawell bid £4m. No way he would spend that much on one player IMO. VVD out for £10m+ and Denayer in on a loan sounds more his idea of business sence. I agree on Michu. Not sure his recent record fills me with confidence for the lone striker role in Europe, although neither does Cifti
Apparently Lawwell was over there in person to make the bid, not sure how often that happens! If we bid £4m you can guarantee the guy will go for £10m!! For us to even bid before having VVD cash is mental, that much even more!!
Big 12 months or so for us contracts wise, which will have big impact on transfers. Derk, Forrest and Mulgrew are in last 12 months of contract and would say are on more than decent money. Would keep Mulgrew for his versatility and still think he's a decent player if stuck at one position, Forrest has been playing well so far bust like Lustig, his next injury is only weeks away and because of that is still miles away from the finished article. But 2017 looks like a big year; Bitton, Griffiths, Izzy, Johansen all up then along with Ambrose, Stokes, Rogic. Bitton, Griffiths and Johansen need to be tied down now, I suspect we need to **** off some of the fringe players to cut the wage bill down in order to offer new terms but we can't afford to lose the nucleus of our team or let contract talks get delayed and atleast not make significant money on transfers
