Where the hell are Chelsea going to play him...................oh yes, the bench beside Falcao. It does free up cash to buy a player that we do actually need - a decent striker. Pedro was going to be a great addition to the team, but always a luxury item rather than an essential buy. Hopefully we can sack Woodward before the window closes........................
Chelsea have an atrocious business model. My god the money they waste. Remember Cuadrado? just the £25m there... so much money wasted. But I guess that's forgotten if you win trophies.
The players they buy have potential or are very good. They just waste them afterwards. Pedro will be a quality addition. It's a double whammy for United. Strenthens them and weakens us.
Never any focus on youth though. With us (and you to an extent) if something goes wrong, we look to promote a youth player (Ibe last season, Sterling two seasons ago, probably texeira this season), Chelsea just splash the token £30m or so... Cuadrado, Willian, Pedro, Rahman, all bench players too probably
Spot on... Oliver Kay ✔ @OliverKayTimes Predicted consequence of #MUFC "refusing to overpay" (ahem) for Pedro: they MASSIVELY overpay for someone else in an attempt to make amends
What a massive joke. Completely ridiculous, how can we not buy an upper echelon European class player who wants to come and is available at a bargain price yet let him saunter off to sit on Chelsea's bench? Over a couple of million quid! Embarrassing. Just gives cretins like London's fuel too as in this instant he'll be well within his rights to gloat at this mess. We'll now buy someone half as good for twice as much, ridiculous.
Balague is saying that up until Woodward's visit to Barca on Monday, Van Gaal was keen on buying Pedro. But bcos Barca wouldn't budge on the price, he changed his mind. If this debacle was Moyes and Woodward, he'd be getting pelters.
Oh yeah, definitely. Moyes, who had been at the club two weeks, got 100% blame for not securing the likes of Alcantara and Fabregas. LVG, now into his second season, is getting **** all for allowing two top strikers to leave and then not getting Pedro (or anyone so far) secured as forward cover. Go figure that.
If he does sign for us he could be a useful addition but you hardly needed him: you already have just bought an inside out left winger in Depay and given another one, Young, a new contract. All three players like to play left and cut in on right foot. So stop wetting the bed and grow a pair. PS Your transfer policy is a joke for signing too many players in similar positions too
I think we needed him more than United, and I would certainly start Pedro over Willian. So he will likely get games. Not sure why people think he will rot on the bench. You were were all so excited about a player that you were sure wouldn't even get into the Chelsea team? I sense sour grapes.
We got excited bcos he was going to replace Valencia tbf and score some goals Sour grapes isn't far off the mark though. More like blind rage atm
Just to clarify, he SHOULD get in but whether he'd be used by Mourinho, who prefers more workmanlike players, is another matter. He's twice the player the likes of Costa and Willian could ever dream of being (and clearly younger in Costa's case) and would have fitted in at United perfectly. Loads of pace and scores, what's not to like? He was on a plate and lvg/Woodward have ****ed up, that's why we're pissed off.
I would have hoped Mata would've been given his chance in AM. Ppl forget we're in all 4 competitions and I can see Pedro, Mata, Herrera, Januzaj would all get game time whether it's AM or RWF
I shall be quite pissed off if he signs for Chelsea. Makes me dislike football all the more. Lvg is clearly a Moron.
Fair enough. Greedy having all those players though. All clubs should be forced to win titles with 11 players on zero net spend like a certain club last season
