Match Day Thread Hull City V Fulham

I just hope it isn't a scoreless borefest as some of these evening matches sometimes tend to be.

Yeah, I agree, I was with some Glasgow lads yesterday who know his error rate! What I really meant was the error was a very basic handling skill that we shouldn't see again, but ...

 

I would drop Elmo to the bench and bring Taylor in at right back with Odubajo in the RW position. Meyler in for Hayden, Aluko in for Clucas and get at them from the first minute.

But knowing Bruce he won't drop his love child Elmo, and probably start with Clucas instead, which is a shame.

 

Did I read somewhere this game is being televised in other countries? Might we get a stream?

 

That's the Charlton game unfortunately. I'll still be up at 4.45am for this!

 

To be fair, Elmo has never let the team down. The odd defensive mistake but he's more then compensated for those in the goals he's scored and created in the last 3 seasons.

 

I've mentioned before that when Elmo had the measure of his marker (which he would have 90% of the time at this level) he tore defences to shreds but the last two games he hasn't been seen. Obviously tactics of some sort but I can't figure that one out.
Also, what's the situation with Maguire? Is he injured or been loaned out again?

 

He's been on the bench twice, played against Stanley. Davies and Dawson first choice in a 442.

 

Missed opening day with a knock, played v Accrington, was on the bench on Sunday. With Dawson and Davies playing well and Brucey currently favouring a back 4, he'll have to wait for a chance.

[EDIT: he was on the bench on opening day too. For some reason I thought he'd been ruled out of that one.]

 

Elmo - it's the formation. If we play 3-5-2 against a team that's 4-4-2 then the extra man in midfield means if we pass quick enough we can stretch their 4 and create
space down the wings. We've played 4-4-2 in all our games this season.

Maguire - won't get in the first team for league games whilst
a) we have Dawson and Davies fit
b) we only play 2 central defenders
He'll be playing next v Rochdale

He wasn't included on the teamsheet via twitter as a substitute. He was on the big screen and was definitely on the bench.

Fulham have/are nothing special. Just keep Tom CAIRNEY OFF HIS LEFT PEG PLZ CHAPS.
