he is a good player .... but he is not a striker .. I think another Striker and center back should had been our priority tbh .. beside he is 28 years old ... why we are not investing on kids with big potential .. ? why we are not having or buying priorities set to our needs?

I think the point is we need an experienced, finished article forward.

If it wasn't obvious enough, having let two go.

We certainly don't need a central half either. Want one perhaps, but we've plenty to be getting by with.

Yep. Pedro is quality no doubt about it. But imagine this - Rooney is floundering or injured. Pedro or Depay are played as the striker. Imagine the pressure now on them to play that forward role. Imagine the grief they'll get if they're not scoring. When a recognised out and out striker like Falcao or RVP can come under pressure, I'm sure two very good wing forwards could be tarnished through little fault of their own.

I have a nasty feeling we're going to end up signing someone like Charlie Austin. He'd walk over broken glass to be a United player and he'd be happy to sit on the bench.

To be absolutely honest, he'd be perfect in that respect.

Him or Kane, ideal as Rooney's understudy.

I just can't see us getting Pedro, if we were we'd have done it by now surely.

Januzaj is a winger an Attacking mid at best .. ok may be he gonna be a good false No.9, may be not? .. but he is not upfront striker, we have only Rooney at that role and he is so far average .. we will need someone else sure to rotate with him or in case of rooney banned, injured or simply tired.. at least someone to compete with in his position & feeling threatening by ..
Wilson is good too, but still long way to be effective and making impact ..

not to mention our back 4, we need a Center Back ASAP, we waited too much for Otamendi now city is in the race too
over the past years, i find our CBs are injury prone, we sure can't rely on them.

I can see why Pedro can fit when it comes of being a winger who score goals, but I feel we are not addressing main issues and setting our priorities right

So lets ignore Januzaj then, change my remark to Wilson and Hernandez?

We have 6 centre backs + Blind, how many do you want?

totally agree on the first part regarding the striker
but regarding our CBs, well we will rely on who? Evans and Jones who constantly injured? Smalling record in injury is not that good too, who else ? Rojo? he is a fullback , ok can play as a CB, but his injury record is not the best either playing 50% of our matches last season
CBs need stability to build up a rock solid defense with the GK, just like we had with VDS, Vidic and Rio , our problems started when our back 4 kept changing every match bcz of injuries, we bloody starting the new season playing Blind there .. look to teams who win PL, City had win it when had solid 2 who played most of the matches, Chelsea last season,..etc... we are too fragile at the back since years .. am feed not seeing regulars CBs at our back, fed up with players playing out of position as CBs ..this issue is being going on for years without being addressed

true, but his form was not good enough since years now.. not consistent for a club who are expected to win every match to compete, this is why he gonna be sold most probably,.. we lost RVP and Falcao last season? that is huge gap needing to be filled quality wise

I would argue Smalling, Jones, Rojo and Evans are all centre halves.

Then there's Blind making a decent job of it, Paddy McNair and Tyler Blackett if need be.

Plus we now have quality at DCM.

We don't NEED a central half.

Agree. And Pedro would be just perfect.

Nothing has changed on that in the past six weeks.

Saw last night it had been rubbished already. Just as with the City stuff earlier in the week. Turns out they've made no bid at all.

That would be a very Mourinho/Chelsea tactic. They'd happily sign him with the limited transfer budget they have and stick him on the bench next to Cuadrado if it meant United, who I suspect Mourinho is increasingly worried about, didn't get any stronger. Bear in mind that the last time Jose was in English football, United simply couldn't compete with Chelsea when it came to transfers. Chelsea being in United and City's transfer shadow won't sit comfortably with him at all. He's a manager who needs to be able to sign who he wants when he wants as he has no patience or skill for developing players.

Basically said Jose didn't want him and abramovich was driving the transfer. Then some Spanish football journal said no, United agreed personal terms and city had inquired but made no bid. Chelsea no interest since early summer.
