Soldado is presented to the Villarreal fans and asked to kick a few balls into the crowd. He misses: We ****ing broke him.
Townsend does have a better goals per game record than Lennon though. Lennon scored less than once per 11 matches for us, Leeds and England. Townsend is better than one in nine for QPR, us and England. The three England goals he has in nine games does make a bit of difference here of course but I don't see why he shouldn't do as well for us. Lennon has other good properties but his goalscoring record is appalling.
Is it just me or does anyone else think that a team with a fully fit Lennon and Townsend playing on their correct sides would cause us a ton of problems?
It would certainly lead to excitement and lots of crosses that got nowhere near their intended target.......
you just gotta remember that the ball is either going to limp lamely wide or power over the bar though. If the latter or your ball kids are on the ball (pun intended) you have the opportunity for a devastating counter
Getting Berahino might be tricky From West Brom OS Chairman - We have no interest in selling Saido WEST Bromwich Albion have today rejected an offer for Saido Berahino from Tottenham Hotspur. Chairman Jeremy Peace commented: “We have no interest in selling Saido which is what I have told Daniel Levy. “I know we are living in an age where no club can say ‘never’ about the possibility of selling a player. “However, the prospect of selling Saido is simply not on our agenda. “We are going forward with Saido very much in our plans and still striving to add players to improve the balance of our squad.” Read more at http://www.wba.co.uk/news/article/w...nham-hotspur-2629078.aspx#7xVC8Wshb30Gb5Rm.99
Why have we waited 2 and a half months to bid for Berihno, what a waste of time. We could have bid 15 million for him in June for them to say no.
What a weird thing to do. Why publicise the bid like that? I can only assume that they're either grandstanding for the fans, trying to attract a bigger bid from another club or trying to get the player to put in a transfer request, so that they don't have to pay him some sort of loyalty bonus. Otherwise, why not just tell us to **** off and ignore any further bids? Very strange.
Bizarre. The whole world and his brother has been waiting for us to bid for Berahino, now 2 weeks before the window closes we finally get around to doing it. Bid rejected, as expected. Now we have next to **** all time left to try elsewhere.
I don’t think we’re serious about trying to get Berahino. I can see why. What I can’t see is why we didn’t pick up Lambert already, or some other player capable of backing up Kane in the lone striker role.
