Ask yourself - would Sakho have missed that header and had to act like a blouse like Lovren did? Had we scored that and it been disallowed I'd have wanted to have known where SAF was when the refs were picked. And the Benny goal was offside under the previous rules, I tell yer, not just the 'new' interpretation. I argued this with United's goal at Preston last season, and I'll keep on doing it. Even the old never said you had to touch the ball, it just said "Effect" play in an offside position, and both Rooney and Coutinho moved towards the ball and caused the goalie to adjust their position to their detriment, thus bloody well effecting play!

Sorry for Bournemouth, but good to hear Alan Smith get apoplectic with anti-Liverpool fury at the 'injustice' of it. Btw, did he comment on Arsenal's non-sending-off at Palace on Sunday?

Shows you've never played the game.

He played for that 'foul' and made zero effort to go for the ball.

Had that been at the other end and Skrtel had been the scorer you'd have been screaming blue murder if that'd have been chalked off.

  4. Agreed. Very harsh to give that as a foul, the goal should have stood.

That lino is ****ing gash. I've spent many a Saturday afternoon hurling abuse at that clueless melt.

He had zero excuse for getting that call wrong either, as he'd have been looking along the line before the kick was taken and clearly seen Coutinho a good yard plus offside. The ball's then come in Coutinho's gone for it, the keeper reacts - the new rule is triggered - flag up. It was a piss easy call and he should be sanctioned for getting it wrong.

Bollocks. Even the season ticket carrying BS I was watching it with said it was a foul. The mancs in there didn't, but they wouldn't, would they?

  10. the ref should have seen it anyway as it was that obvious. The other lino probably saw it too <laugh>

  12. Never been a foul. If it was, why didn't they get a penalty when Skrtel rugby tackled their player to the ground? That was far worse than the hand touching Lovren's shoulder. Joke of a foul even if it did go in our favour.

Recognising that something went in our favour isn't illegal or against footballing loyalty laws you know <laugh>

It's funny because there was so much talked about it pre season and two games in you've got the clearest example ignored by the official.

I saw a ref give Torres offside a few seasons ago, even though he was thirty yards behind play and the lino kept his flag down. He was wrong and it was good goal, and we ended up drawing 0-0. Gary Lineker laughed.

    c'mon!

you don't give pens for that.. darmain showed the way there. wrestling in the box = ok. hands on shoulders is something you prob get done for as CB 5 times a game.

refs need a threshold to blow for a pen but blowing for a defensive free is piss easy... same as daring to breathe on a keeper.

I'm sure mingolet got a free for someone walking within 5 yards of him yesterday too.

  17. Not saying it was a penalty, just showing how ridiculous disallowing Bournemouth's goal was

Exactly Frank, that's what makes it an unforgiveable mistake, because they've been out coaching clubs on how the rule works pre-season ffs <laugh>

If he was in the correct position, or tracked his man, or was stronger, he would have won the header.
