It seems as if the relationship between our owners has gone from open hostilities to cold war. The Allams have finally retreated into their bunker and won't be available to visitors this season. SB seems to have no idea what they are doing in the transfer window but there is evidence their willingness to bankroll the club is now over. All talks are of players leaving with few hints of incomings. I appreciate the investment the Allams have pumped into the Club since they took over and the success we all enjoyed because of it, but I can't help thinking this new direction is far more about petulance than prudence.
The club needs to live within its means. Whatever the motivations for this, and they may well be down to Olympic standard petlippery, I'm pleased that we are being run on affordable lines with the debts getting paid down.
Agreed. I thought this was going to be an insightful post on the re-emergence of the Soviets and the possibility of the potential horrors we almost witnessed late last century.
My manager (bless her) actually bought me a USB desk fan* from Maplin, just to shut me up. Shows I'm a star larker. *Fully compliant with office Health & Safety guidlelines.

I've said it before, but like AlRawdah, I'm perfectly happy for us to spend within our means and accept the effect that will have on our promotion hopes. If we are doing tjat though, they shouldn't have bumped ticket prices up even further and justified it by saying it matches our aspirations. But anyway, if we were prepared to pay £5-6m for Gray, are we actually cutting costs? This has been a weird window whatever the reason.
After the Bartlett/Dufferman years I am very happy to live within our means. No owner should be allowed to bank roll a club for large amounts no matter how rich. FFP is most welcome. We have over £17m in the transfer kitty so no problems with cash atm. As for the Cold War ? ask Vladimir Putin about that.
