Just means you're rewarded even more if you go against the norm and are correct.

High risk, high reward. Just like going for a midfield or defender to score gets you lots bigger reward than predicting forward to score.

Personally I quite like the minus points side of it, pays off if you take a risk and punished if you're wrong, it'll certainly make things interesting, esp towards the end of the season.
