To be fair he had to give a yellow there if he gave a foul. Wasn't much of a foul though.

I think he gave the yellow to Gomez for his reaction to the assistant.

Yes! I said toward the end of last season that if they didn't go up, we should go for him.

He'd need to be de-scaled though.

Bournemouth desperately unlucky last a night, a goal that was clearly offside conceded and a goal of their own harshly ruled out. I understand why Tom says he thinks it was a foul n I (probably) wouldn't have a problem with it if there was consistency, but there's not. I wonder how many pens Skrtel will have given against him for same offence? Christ even Jose will probably give away 2 this weekend if that's what's deemed a penalty now and we're gonna get consistency!

Still reckon Bournemouth will be a lot like Burnley this year, win a lot of friends with way they play but struggle to score many goals.

Talking on Sky about John Terry (after he was subbed against City). Seemed weird (even for Mourinho), but I thought everyone may be going over the top about it. However, it turns out that Terry was excluded from training sessions for the match and didn't expect to start. No fan of Terry as a person, but he deserves better after his service to Chelsea than to be treated like that without explanation. Bearing in mind his recent spat with the doctor, Mourinho seems to be the type of man who may be unafraid to make difficult decisions, but doesn't deal with things properly as he doesn't like to feel he is in the wrong in any way. Amusing he may be, but I am beginning to really dislike this man. Am quite sure in a similar situation at Saints, Koeman would explain to a player what was going on.

Hmm....careful not to get sucked into the 'one side' here Fran. If he was excluded from training, there'll be a damn good reason which he'll know. Who knows what's gone on behind closed doors.

None of us really, but we'd have to stop posting if we didn't speculate :) I think Mourinho is plain shifty and smiles too much....female intuition....full house....end of argument. <laugh>

Bet Terry wasn't thinking about explaining his own actions to anyone when he slept with team mates' wives/partners, cheated on his wife countless times, and racistly abusde Anton Ferdinand. He gets paid an absolute fortune - and I mean he is amongst the handful of stratospherically megapaid players who dwarf all other stupendously high paid players. He even got half a game. I really don't think he deserves any better - his lot isn't too hard. About time player power and automatic selection got a wakeup call. As much of a twat as his boss is, he is still the boss.

I agree with you about the consistency. More than anything I want top refs to set an example to the lower level refs and to really crack down on fouls inside the area (both ways). Everytime there's a corner, I always give a foul when there's even a hint of climbing, pushing etc. I gave a soft penalty once when a defender pushed an attacker nowhere near the ball. They complained like hell at the time, but hey, they stopped doing it.
