It's a personal perspective mate, not evidence based. When I spent 3 months in Oz in 1986-87 a significant proportion (not a majority) of the over 45's that I met went out of their way to big up Oz and more pointedly run down the UK - including some of my own relations. I think it went beyond the usual pom baiting which is fun. I also think many of those involved were first generation pommy immigrants themselves. Just bemused me as to why they felt it was so important to have a go like that. Should also be clear that I got to some pretty out of the way and unsophisticated places on that trip, don't think they got too many visitors. Remember queuing in a Post Office somewhere like Broome or Esperance chatting and an old bloke saying 'with an accent like that you must be from the Eastern states....' Should also say that my recent visits, all to Sydney for work, have seen no repetition (plus my Aussie relations are mostly dead now). It's a great country and has changed beyond recognition in the last 25 years. The sporting rivalry is a great one and I have no problem with banter around that. The Aussie 'Cultural Cringe' (an Aussie term, not mine) is dying out now, but was definitely real for a period, manifested by an obsessive need to know what foriegners thought of Australia and an inferiority complex about Aussie culture and 'the convict stain'. If you have a cause for complaint, there are proper channels to go through. You can't do it through an open forum and expect the result you desire. The last thing I wish to do is arrive back from my sunbed and have to deal with someone whining about a fellow poster. We are not here all the time and don't get to read every single post. We are not sitting on our bloody hands. Put it through the the proper channels and you might get an adequate response. ie Make it a formal complaint and copy in all the mods. We are not babysitters for the board and responsible for everything that gets posted. I'll post and sticky a re-draft of all things not606QPR rules and regs when I get the chance. I hope you take the time to read them and not **** us off when you eventually take the time to do so.

I think the Rhino is a cracking bloke. A top poster. However, the Mods should take no action whatsoever against the Waterboy. In fact they should take no action against anyone.....ever. (Barring in the most extreme circumstances like someone threatening to kill everyone or summat). The only entertainment there is on here (for me at least) is when people are arguing with one another. I find it very funny. And the Waterboy (admittedly in a rather peculiar way) is providing that. He gets up people's noses and he's brought some immensely funny responses from Stan (its a pity he's put him on ignore) which you wouldn't get if everyone were getting along. Betty and Co, allow natural selection to continue to work its magic. The free market will settle everything in its own time.

I'm intreagued by what you have left out of your as much as what you've included. Asking a wum to piss off a thread, started this 9's, a wum who has been at it all summer and has pissed off a large section of this board. Interested in people with different opinions to our? or just those with your mindset? I've apologised to Beth already and certainly won't be doing it again after your prose. Mentioning the fact I've already apologised would make this post look quite so strong and forceful as it was meant to but I don't really care about you as you comment lacked so much awareness that I'm minded to respond in kind, even if it is churlish. As for making formal complaints, really? run to teacher each and ever time little Timmy has a paddy? The rules don't state that we must make a complaint unless we wish to do so, I didn't. I only respond to having my wrist slapped for asking someone to piss off who was and repeatedly thread hijacking. I even said please. You have allowed Aqua way to much rope, yet on my return I for a summer off I get the appalling comment you have posted above.
