To be fair, I'd discounted anyone French because of the fifa ranking, just assumed France would higher up than us. Shocked to see us at 8th, and then in 23rd!

 

I remember Pancrate fondly. I got married on 27th February 2010 and my wife let me watch the Championship highlights in the hotel room the morning after. We had beaten Watford 2-1 and that always make me think of the goal he scored against them in the other game against them which was a worldy. Bit of a tenuous link but still good. Not surprised he didn't play for us in the prem though, lightweight and a passenger most of the time.

I too remember him fondly. I also remember the first game as the one where I got up out my seat in the corporates and shout "Have some of that you bastard!" as Alan Smith lifted Lloyd Doyley who had spent the first 20mins kicking everything in sight. Smith had him horizontal in mid air and he came crashing down hard. He didn't kick anyone after that. Needless to say I felt the scorn of the entire corporate section as they scowled at the commoner amongst them.
