Tram, I have apologised via PM to Col. I was bang out of order with those comments. And Col graciously accepted my apology. :emoticon-0148-yes:

Still wumming and hijacking every thread he can.

Broken many rules that others would be given bans for, continue to go unpunished. when all have to be chastised for the actions of one immature vindictive sad act. Modern PC bullshit is taking over

    Tony would be so proud.

The thread was about the response Tony got to his latest rambling on twitter.

Does anyone think we should have to swallow this crap?

I can't think of any country I've visited that doesn't exhibit an 'inbred sense of superiority' to some extent or other. Granted some are more in your face about it than others, and in some, like Spain and Italy, its more regional than national. And in some it's more 'chip on shoulder/sense of inferiority' than genuine, calm self confidence - the Aussies for example (stands back and waits......), and I reckon the UK fall into that bracket now too (unlike in the past, and definitely in 1864, when the sense was second nature). Probably essential to keep these flimsy collective figments of our imagination called nations afloat. My own inbred sense of superiority is certainly built on foundations of sand, huge areas of ignorance revealed to me every day. But then again it is bolstered by the uber ignorance displayed by others with sickening regularity.

I don't know anything about 1864, but my interest is piqued. I shall investigate.

Thanks for this diversion. I am bored ****less with the football a week into the season. Time for some OT threads.

You can click on the link in post #1 and read the responses.

It would be fair to say judging by the reaction, I'm not in a minority of wanting him gone any longer. Hence the tide is turning tag.

Have a read, and ask your self why he does this? on what level is this a good idea? He must really hold us low regard to keep pumping this drivel out.

I think a more general apology is in order Aqua, rather than a hidden one (private PM) that Tramore had to drag out of you.
Yes it is gracious acceptance from Col, which you would not have got if the original comment had been directed at me.

I would suggest that you take up a more contrite position for a while, rather than pulling all the threads down to one designed just to pull attention onto yourself

I am now total confused Rhino (not your fault)...who is it you want gone TF, Ramsey, Aqua????

I assume it is TF......... and if it is , it is fairly obvious that he has been told to lay off twitter, by the club....but he just cannot, and needs to have his say.
It is now harmless, and that is what I am happy with that level..."well played boys", "rather a point than a loss", "keep going", all that is OK....and you wouldn't think twice about it...other than what has gone before.

He is staying in the background, let us just see how that goes for a while....there are bigger people than you or I telling him to put a lid on it.

I have seen the tide change....
Transfers going through on the quiet................No real big shouting
Small things happening behind the screen
Big spenders out/ old lags out...younger, leaner, hungrier players in

If it begins to happen on the pitch...we will all be happier......but really consolidation is what is needed....wwe do not want/need to get rid of anyone with the resulting upheaval...we need to stay under the radar whilst we rebuild and reform
I do not want anyone out in any sort of coup thank you...I want a quiet consolidation..

.so in a year or two...they will be saying...where did that good team QPR come from, never noticed them rebuilding

If he can do this to a football club he inherited debt free in the Premiership I certainly won't be taking a trip in any of his planes or staying in his hotels. Or buying one of his kit cars. #kiss of death.

Lol, not like me to go leaving grey areas, The first two should be gone gone and thrice gone, they can take Les with them, the Ferdinand experiment has ended in failure. and if no improvement in behaviour the third as well. Don't hold ya breath on the third.

Sorry for rounding on you a bit Beth but I do feel Aqua has had FAR to much leeway on this board. Thankless task modding, fair play for doing it.

No problem Rhino (my skin is as thick as a rhinos<doh>)... But I would disagree with you a little, yes the Fernandez experiment has ended in failure...But I still have hopes for the Les/Chris version....but we do need to give it time...I really hope they are in it for the long haul....and as I said above....in a years time I hope to see my Rs back, playing good football, making small strides forward all the time....stepping up slowly and developing into a great club again.

Unfortunately, with free speech we are bound to allow people to have their say.....but if it goes into breaking the rules...then we are on the case I promise you Rhino

I would have thought that all this would have been conducted via PM, but if you want it on public view so be it.
Tramore did not "drag" an apology from me at all. I pm'd Col last night of my own volition and I mentioned it to Tramore in a post earlier on today! He didn't drag anything from me. I am my own man and don't do anything if it is tried to be dragged from me under false pretences. I realised I had crossed a line with Col and that is why I apologised to him. As for a more general apology, that will not be forthcoming as I do not feel that I crossed any official line. If you can show me EXACTLY what rules I have contravened recently, apart from the Col one which has been apologised for, I would be happy to reconsider.

So why did you not tell everyone, you had apologised to Col then Aqua. The first Tramore and I knew about was on #61.

Your tone on #22 was aggressive and offensive and that warrants an apology if nothing else.
As does your inability to allow people to have a decent conversation.
There are strict rules on WUMming Aqua and you know it

We should rename this to "The thread is turning"... Wow it went a bit Eastenders there for a mo<laugh>

Anyway I'm in the Rome was not built in a day camp. I totally understand the frustrations after the mostly shower of sh!t served up football wise by QPR the last few years.

So we'v played two league games so far and only have a point, well look at our neighbors down the road hovering over the relegation places in 16th in the same boat with just a point. OK I know we are not Chelsea but I will leave it a few games before I start to panic.

To Quote our board rules Aqua

    Basic Standards

Users must show due respect for others, avoid causing offence (see item 3 below) and keep in mind the possibility that children or adults of a sensitive disposition may be looking in.

Users must self-moderate by controlling content and take the time to double check (proof read) and edit out immoderate text before 'sending'. ‘Red mist’, whilst occasionally understandable, will not be considered a defence against the failure to self-moderate.

    Standard Offences
    personal disrespect / abuse
    • the €"isms"€™
    • wumming
    • baiting
    • trolling
    • thread hijacking

Extremes such as bigotry and sectarianism are by their nature immoderate and must therefore also be considered unacceptable.
Similarly extreme forms of expression relating to the following non-exhaustive list may equally be considered unacceptable:

    • politics
    • religion
    • regionalism
    • nationalism

In order to maintain board harmony, best to avoid all such content.

    Definitions of Standard Offences

Personal disrespect and personal abuse are self-evident.

Accepted definitions for related offences are as follows:

The 'Isms': Ignorance / bigotry relating to our human differences as regards gender, age, race, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation; and religious and/or political beliefs.

Wumming (Wind-Up Merchant): Vexatious banter. Comments made with the intention to cause disruption by goading others. (Goad means to provoke or annoy (someone) so as to stimulate actions or reactions.)

Baiting: Selectively challenging a named user / poster into a direct response. Considered over-personal and a form of bullying.

Trolling: Practice of posting a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument.

Thread Hijacking: Purposeful and/or repeated deviation from thread topic, title or OP.

I feel that you have broken a number of these rules Aqua ........going beyond the limit on personal disrespect, wumming, baiting, trolling and thread hijacking.
The thread we are on has certainly been hijacked...and I apologise to you all for that and will endeavour to communication with Aqua through PMs

PS Hoillet has just scored a hattrick

Thanks for that Beth....I will have a read through and see if there's anything that may make me reconsider.
ps Just noticed that last one...pretty sure a lot of threads get hijacked every day. ie someone posts something which is a slight deviation from the topic.. it's inevitable. At what point does it become off topic and an offence? A bit of a grey area?

I disagree with that (you wouldn't expect anything else eh?).

The younger generation here seem to have lost some patriotism, but I don't think the English/British have a chip on their shoulder. Rather, many Countries who have been ruled by Britain fall into that category imo.

Actully Col, on reflection, I think you are right. We don't have a chip on our shoulder. The younger generation just don't seem engaged with it at all (unless they are Scottish of course) and the older ones are just the same as those from other nations with a pride in their place of birth/heritage.

The some of the older generation Aussies definitely have a big chip though.........
