I've mentioned Antonio Forcione a few times on here, he's probably the best guitarist I've ever seen live. He's currently touring with Sarah Jane Morris and they're playing Kardomah 94 in Hull on Saturday, 8.30 - 11.30pm, entry £20. One of the best Jazz and Soul singers in the country with one of the best guitarists in the entire world have teamed up to create a duo show that will be filling our venue on the 22nd August. "Artistic, intense, and formidably inventive, Antonio is a performer of genuine distinction. Ever unpredictable, his is a celebration of the unexpected elements in life, a music of rare delicacy, humour and, not least, passion" http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/k94-club-antonio-forcione-with-sarah-jane-morris-tickets-17532633579
Wow they are good, might go Saturday if I can get tickets. I would have loved to have heard a duet with him and Amy Winehouse.
We have something in common OLM as I am a great admirer of acoustic guitar stemming back to when I first heard the immortal Django Reinhardt - for those of you who have never heard of him have a look on YouTube and you will notice that two of his chord fingers are immobile which make him all the more incredible - although, being tone deaf, I was never able to become a guitarist like yourself. He has appreciation fan clubs all over the world who, in tribute to his ability, tape their bottom two fingers so they have to play like Django did. Forcione is an incredible guitarist and some of his counterparts are adopting the new MIDI controlled guitar (see attached video) which give them an incredible versatility to their talents. Hope you enjoy. Some of you might like to have a look at the great Country Guitarist, Chet Atkins, who can be seen playing two tunes at the same time - no kidding.
