    3 points tonight will give us momentum going into the tough upcoming fixtures. If we do well in the tough opening games it will put us in good position to be in European places at Xmas.

    A win tonight puts a bit less pressure on the arsenal game. We can afford to then draw that and still have a good start / be ahead of rivals like arsenal and spurs.

    A confirtable 3-0 win would go down well with benteke, Milner and Firmino getting off the mark.

    (Or hendo for my prediction points)

    I know No one wins/loses the title in August (except Chelsea last season) but if we don't get 3 points against the cherries it hints at a poor season ahead.

    I will point out though that we have always started badly under Rodgers. Even his 2nd place year, we didn't look great until several months in. We won lots of scrappy 1 nill games that we looked 2nd best in early on.

    So a bad show against Bmouth isn't totally unprecedented here.

    I've often wondered why mid-table teams don't win the league more often. They have more 6 pointer games than anyone.

    We had a fair few of these must win games in the run in last season. Lets see how it goes. Least we have more options now other than putting Sterling up front :D

    Difference is, we have a nightmare start in terms of fixtures plus the pressure of failure last season so anything less than a win is going to be awful for us.
