Looks as if some of the letters are taking longer than others to dry. please log in to view this image To think that at one time there was a rotting iron fence along there with enough holes in it to get a glimpse of the game if you didn't have the entrance money.
Our percentage appears based on the expanded capacity though that was only available from December so half a season... Damn Eric Morecombe sympathisers skew everything..95.5% based on start of season capacity, just above Everton
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/ne...ced_by_1_000_for_tomorrow___s_game/?ref=fbshr Could be a problem in the Elton John stand tomorrow! TBH I remember thinking last season the stairs didn't feel particularly stable. Suspect somebody has had an accident which hasn't been reported.
Seems as if matters have been ironed out, or men with shovels have been at work. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/ne...for_Watford_s_home_game_tomorrow/?ref=mr&lp=3
Our CEO has said that the club are spending £10m on stadium improvements in addition to the money for players. I would think that should be enough to quieten the doubters about the Pozzo family commitment to the club.
You'd hope so - on top of the expenditure I think we also have to throw in the fact that non concession match tickets start at £36 a go which is very competitive for the premier League. Sure, we don't know what the hike will be for the glamour games but so far so good!
There were problems - no turnstiles working, hand held scanners not working and at the gate I was at they were telling season ticket holders to go get paper tickets from the ticket office because their season tickets were not programmed (I'm told the TO was carnage). eventually security saw sense and with 15 mins to KO let people in without scanning their cards or tickets. It better be sorted for Southampton.
Thoroughly enjoyed the game on Saturday and ground improvements making a big difference to the feel of the place . ..On a negative note ...my view and that of plenty of others, of family stand goal was totally blocked by camera and cameraman on half way line ..he completely filled the view of goal . ( £72 for 2 tickets) . Lesson learned . Also the boss lady spent entire half time break queuing for the loo ....club please spend a few more thousand on providing additional toilets, letters have been sent to the club on the above issues . Advertising boards also distracting to those sitting closer to the pitch ... it's a shame money is king in this sport. £ 36 for 90 mins of non guaranteed "entertainment " is quite enough in my opinion ...will not be attending the "big" games if price hike too steep . Anyone have any idea why the scoreboard screen was not being used ?..is it something to do with being in the Prem ?
That was just for WBA fans wasn't it? There's a reciprocal deal between the clubs for away fans I think.
Trying and failing to buy tickets online for Southampton game seems to be a glitch ...trying and failing to get through to ticket office ...I suspect they have had a tough few days !
Just wanted to say I watched the WBA game from the SEJ stand for the first time last week. Had no problems with the turnstiles (there were long queues toward the Vic Road end, but it was fine down the Rookery end of the stand), although I am not a season ticket holder so just had my ticket loaded to my Fan Card. Loads of space out the back of the stand, wide entrance to get out to my seat, queues for toilets and concession stands fine. Obviously some work to do to tidy it up, and I don't know what was causing the queues at the other turnstiles, perhaps partly people just joining the back of the queue instead of being directed to the other entrances? Also there were a lot of empty seats for a "sold out" game. I was on the third row, and there was nobody in the two rows in front of me. Don't know if these are season ticket holders on summer holiday who didn't return tickets for the game, seats reserved for the club that aren't for sale, or perhaps seats that we haven't been allowed to sell yet due to H&S concerns given the rushed build?
I lent my season ticket to my daughter's boyfriend because my brother in law had a spare ticket. Unfortunately he turned up at the ground without it so I had to queue with hundreds of others at the ticket office for a replacement so missed the first 15 minutes of the game. Thoroughly enjoyed the SEJ stand although my daughter complained about the lack of atmosphere compared to our previous seats at the back of the rookery.
