It may well be Maureen thinks he is bigger than the club..he cannot blame the medical staff this time and subbing Terry seems perverse. I have particular axe to grind and acknowledge my own team are crsp
Ugh, Hate to see my predictions come true, I predicted badness for us this season and could just feel it in my bones even before a ball was kicked. Admittedly its far too early for alarm bells, will re judge this after 10 games, but this isn't looking good.
Exactly that. One word describes the performance and ultimately the result yesterday...inevitable. Early doors but things haven't looked right at all for the last few weeks.
I cannot see Jose lasting the season at this rate either. And I am not even talking about the results. Its the Doctor thing, the constant mocking of Wenger, the crazy **** he comes out with in Interviews, ie "We won the second half" the **** does that matter you imbecile? Even if you think we did (which I don't) what ****ing difference would it make, the game lasts for 90 minutes.....and we lost 3-0. He is such a good manager, but he just needs to shut up because he is trying my patience. He was always outspoken, but usually it was in a jokey way, now he just sounds bitter a lot.
He's obviously not that happy. I assume it's because the club haven't been active enough in the market whilst United and City look like they'll do another 100 million odd each (Though happy enough to just sign a new extension so it's all a bit confusing). To be fair, if that is the case I kind of get his point. We been living off net spend for a few windows now and with all the new t.v money, foreign tours etc. you would assume money is there. If we can all see the need for a couple of new additions then surely so can he. As I've said before, standing still will take you backwards in this league. But overall I agree, his petulance, swiping at Wenger etc is all getting a little boring and exhausting at the moment. The whole doctor situation was very badly handled obviously as well. The team selection and tactics yesterday were worryingly predictable as well.
And whats with the cheap pot shots at Wenger all the time. Yes, he is ****, yes he has managed to keep his job despite going more than a decade without a league title. But why the **** can he not conduct one interview without mentioning it? Let it go ffs.
It is the pressure. The purchase of Falcao was symbolic in my opinion. Why take a punt on someone who has failed so badly when you don't have to? When winning, silliness in interviews may help his image. When losing, it comes across as a poor loser refusing to acknowledge that the other team thoroughly deserved the win.
The only hope is that we can use this already being written off to kick start a fight back. Plus we won't play sides as good as City every week, who are brilliant when on it. They were always going to play well yesterday, it's maintaining it against 'lesser' teams that has been their problem. Arsenal and United have also looked average so there is still everything to play for. We have to turn this around very quickly though. Title could be over in a couple of weeks if not.
Maybe but we were always going to need an experienced pro happy to sit on the bench most weeks as Costa is clearly number 1. In that regard he fits the Bill and on about half the money he was on at United. I didn't necessarily agree with the deal but it makes sense in a lot of ways and many pundits agreed.
Try 10 times the money Bamford is on. Falcao has to be on over 100k per week. Would be surprised if Bamford is even getting 10k per week. He was playing in the Championship last year.
Re: Jose, I'm glad I'm not the only one starting to feel pissed off and a little alienated by his antics. Two seasons ago, I enjoyed them, and though not always supportive of them I found him to conduct himself pretty well. He is just being nasty and petty 24/7 now. Very annoying for me - partly why I have stopped follow the media around football quite so much these days - sick of being implicated in his **** stirring as a fan.
This is pretty much how I feel about it to be honest. Everytime he is in front of the cameras I am like "FFS, what the **** is he gonna come out with now?!" Its tiresome. Now I know how Liverpool fans feel about Rodgers, but at least Rodgers is just cringeworthy, and not cringeworthy and nasty like Jose is.
To be fair he's pretty much always been the same. A bit like Benitez, his "mind games" cross the line into personal attacks. FFS at Real he tried to gouge out an opposition coach's eye!
Completely agree Varier, without the humour heis just a bitter whingeing bore. What is worrying is that if the lack of movement in the transfer market is pissing him off, his response is like a demented 3 year old. Why on earth doesnt he just stand up like a big kid and put forward his case. If that doesnt work, then resign. No one expects him to win with an inferior squad, hes not short of reddies and he wont be short of work. If he carries on like the pork chop he's been lately, who'd want him around?
