I've watch people try to humour him all summer, its not worked. Telling all and sundry to be happy what ever happens rain or shine, promotion or destruction, is grinding this board to **** Stroller. There a few young people on here and they would be given greater leeway should the need arise, thing is our younger posters are usually the best behaved and most respectful posters. Calling him a child is a bit unfair to children.
Not going to apologise for being a positive and generally glass half full person. What is there to be unhappy about on here....this is just a football forum, it's not a forum for discussing serious world problems. It should be a bit of fun and light hearted chat. What is so wrong with trying to coerce people into being happy! It's only football. No one is going to die!
Judging by peoples reaction rather than spreading happiness you seem to rub them up the wrong way. You say you are optimistic however your posts reveal someone who is unhappy in their life but tries to hide it by continually stating they are happy. You need to be true to yourself.
Only my opinion but I don't think that's the case at all. Many of us have been following the club most of our lives and have seen it all many times over. The problem we are currently experiencing is that nothing seems to have changed. For one, we are still seeing player movement that that just doesn't make sense ( McCarthy / now Green ) ( Remy / Austin, same situation ) ........... more midfield buys and again lacking defenders and strikers. Facts are, it's only the management and dates, that have really change ................... everything else is still an organised mess. As far as opinions go ................. as mentioned by others, it's a forum, were expressing opinion and as long as we keep it reasonably clean, all is good. Whether it will be a good year or bad, we'll still be here, flapping the gums and giving Chelsea stick. Aussie
I think we are seeing a lot of change compared to all the years I have supported QPR. We achieved before through straight forward basics When a man comes in and publicaly announces big plans then wastes the opportunity to build something to mark his life by then the saying the buck has to stop is relevant The image of our football club is without doubt the worse it has been The club enjoyed a wonderful third party appreciation from neutral fans Those fans had also a wonderful reputation and the whole thing was run on the exciting football and image the club had in its grasp The QPR fan of today has been transformed IMO whereupon we dismissed talent for one reason or another like a ready meal In the same way that the promise was sold to us all we have to accept that now we are all lost in how we can connect to the club Yes we can just accept it and say it's the roller coaster way of QPR but if any QPR fan doesn't feel the waste then they are not human Club's are getting ruined everyday and the infection we all currently are experiencing is purely down to very poor management at the club and a business culture that simply doesn't deliver I harp on about the club's ID and I fully believe it's the source of all success in fact it's my job to understand these things It doesn't help when we dilute our identity out and can't even design a kit that has hoops . What message does that send the footballing market! The team is always the short term fix for the infected win at Yeovil and we will win the cup ... Under perform at home against an established team in this league and we are already. Relegated . Secretly QPR fans all believe that we will be promoted this year simple fact no one can tell at all The entertainment strings are pulled by evil powers but there is no excuse for a club not to address its identity and restore that as a priority IMO All the wrong messages continue simply because our people in power have to look after themselves first I used the word fickle in the past Is it becoming clear what that means yet . I have remarked on the soul at QPR home games ... I have never experienced a low like this even when LR was half full The club has to address this now All we can hope for is stability
Absolutely superb - almost BBCesque in quality. Studied this as a part of A Level History, this whole affair was an incredibly complex affair with most of Europe not fully understanding what was even going on! It is oft stated that only 3 men truly understood the full complexities - the deceased King of Denmark, Frederik VII if memory serves, the Danish Minister - Larsen who went insane (literally) as a result and Britain's Lord Palmerston who Queen Victoria heavily censored. I think I remember writing that this was one of the first times that Britain showed strong dislike of the Germans in support of little Denmark. If I'm further correct, you'll be most proud of the fact that the whole thing was only publicized Eastwards due to the mass outcry in little old Ireland, with significant support from your boys to DK. This has helped accentuate the strong link between the peoples of DK and IRL .- oh and perhaps the fact of those pesky Vikings ravishing the best of your shores!!! Amazing how little was known here in DK prior to this Blockbuster series. Then again I shouldn't be so surprised - there is a 50 question test here that needs to be passed if you want to take up Citizenship - played it with a few Danish friends and they know Jack about their own history. I can never be Danish - but always an R!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep cool all - thanks for the question Swords, I might revisit my other masterpiece from those times Bismarck - Planner or Improviser? Discuss
Very good Danish. I'd never heard of that conflict either until I stumbled upon it last night on TV and watched the first two episodes. A cracking programme. Right up my street. Can't wait for the next installments. The director keeps singling out the British as a comparison to the Danes in this interview. I don't know why. Did the British become actively involved in this conflict? http://www.irishexaminer.com/examvi...were-so-angry-about-tv-drama-1864-331046.html
No, the Brits (sorry Col) were no Knights in shining armour on this occasion. The Director refers to the fact that the Danes have an inbred sense of superiority where all things Danish are to be revered as best. (Probably much like Stan has with us as he's so much more intelligent than us!) The Director (and sorry again Col) has then on plenty of occasions stated that this Arrogance/Sense of Superiority/Healthy Nationalism expressed by Danes is exactly the same in Britain.
What an incredibly melodramatic thread. I hope we have a few seasons of midtable championship mediocrity to reset expectations to more reasonable levels.
Thanks for that professor! You obviously have a deep insight into the life of some bloke on a forum based JUST on how they post and then have the gall to dish out advice based on that. Genius......well actually you are very wrong.
That's an incredibly sad position of ambition Grifter. Granted it is currently the most likely outcome from history of the past 4 and a bit Seasons. I think you'll find very few thought that an immediate return to the Premiership was either achievable or desirable. However, what one could expect is this - A defense in place before the start of the Season without past it has beens Hill and Konchesky. After a third of last Season and a full pre Season that there was evidence of an improvement in playing style. ALL transfer business concluded early so last minute "bargains" were not a must - we don't seem to do those too well, do we? That midtable could be achieved without mediocrity but with a sense of purpose and moving forward - at least providing the paying punter with a smile or two. Most on here are giving Ramsey and co. 10 games. Why is that? Probably because they saw the 10-15 games he had last year, that the pre Season has been more or less a shambles as the previous 4 and that we are not playing well at the start of this campaign. This is the same Ramsey who is totally unproven at any Senior level and who has already brought out dangerous "political cards". Is this thread melodramatic? You bet it is - just as it has always been with the RRRRs in whatever division we will be in or have been in. Have the expectations and demands changed? You bet they have - why? Because we're all bitter that we've thrown hundreds of Millions of GBP at this with nothing to show for it. We are now only 5 games and 1 point from being exactly where we were when Briatore turned up with Naomi to watch us play Norwich with Kevin Rowlands scoring the only goal - just think of that. One last theoretical question to you as an Owner - you have invested 300 Million GBP + in to QPR - you are where you are today - what are YOUR expectations? One last theoretical question to you as a Fan - Imagine you are a supporter of Bournemouth and your team have just been promoted to the Premier League - You are about to have over 300M GBP spent on your club - where do you think your club should be in 4 years and what would and should be reasonable hope?
Right lads this school yard name calling, personal attacks etc has gone on long enough, Aqualung, I don't know if you are doing it deliberately or not but the content of your posts are beginning to put other posters backs up, tone it down, cut out the personal insults and concentrate on replying to the subject matter. You complain about the post by LoopyR yet you post your personal thoughts about Col and his family, a bit of double standards don't you think? You can take this as a friendly warning about the manner of your posts and ongoing wumming. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and yours is as valid as others, just cut out the personal content and we'll all get on fine.
He'll be OK Swords, Waterboy is keeping him busy these days - I'm pretty sure that Col has oft stated that "Arrogance/Sense of Superiority/Healthy Nationalism" is to be revered anyway.
