You were saying it as if you think it's something you approved of and you wanted other people to learn from it. Are you now saying that you only want Jelavic to do it and not other people. Are you also saying that you didn't want him to do it last season? I am not referring to what Jalevic did or didn't do so you shouldn't be making out I am judging on a snap shot. What I am saying is that complaining and whining shouldn't be encouraged in a football team. Let the manager and coaches deal with bad play. By all means talk about it in training. Just dont have tantrums on the pitch.

Very wrong. A pass was screaming to be made, it didn't necessarily have to lead to an immediate pass, as it could have created a better opportunity. His greed or lack of vision squandered opportunity. It's done and dusted now and, hopefully, the attack will be improved for it.

A pass to somebody on the wing isn't always better than trying to beat somebody which, if successful, would lead to a shot on goal. There were plenty of instances when a City player had the ball wide and crossed it nowhere near any of our players.

You quoted my post (above) with this: "I'm not sure how constant whining and complaining can be considered good for team spirit.", So I think it is reasonable to believe Jelavic was in your thoughts.

I think you would have to try hard to find any doubt in this, but you seem determined to try hard.

I think you will find I have asked you in a reasonable way, I have not accused you, but it certainly does seem you are a tad tender on it. A bit of player temperament would have done us good last year, as they suffered Hudds for far too long.

Whinging and whining, as you put it (I wouldn't, but there you go) will always be there; anyone, as Chazz says, who has played, knows this.

Just another pointless argument; the incident in discussion was crying out for a pass and you pissing all over the facts won't change that. <ok>

You said: "Any young gun should take note and learn". This implied that you wanted other players to do the same.
There's a difference between showing determination when trying to beat opponents and shouting and arguing with team mates.

So, in a match when crosses have been largely wasteful you are critical of a young player who tries to create a goalscoring chance in the penalty area rather than passing the ball out wide?

I didn't name Clucas in my top 3 today but boy was he impressive considering the step up he's made ... had everything today apart from being a bit unsure in his decision making which will come in time.

How about them learning from the frustration of a senior pro? They don't have to copy him but they can certainly learn there is a time to pass and a time to shoot, the incident, if that is what it was, would show them that. Folk are different and will react in different ways; you seemingly trying to construct an argument from words I haven't said won't move the discussion forward though.

All I am saying is that having a tantrum on the pitch during a match isnt helpful.
I would suggest that discussing what to do during a match should be carried out in a calm manner. On the training ground these things can be discussed.

Commentators said two very interesting phrases during the game to describe two players, which shocked me a bit.

Elmo: "Thinks he's too good to be in this division, and plays a nonchalant pass up the line and almost causes a goal conceded."
Jelavic: "An experienced player who's looking to right last season's wrongs."

After watching today's game, I tend to agree with them. Elmo looked like he couldn't care less.

I don't understand why Jelavic was taking it upon himself to do it either seeing as he is neither coach or a captain which made me think really it was diva behaviour more than anything

He's very nonchalant, maybe a bit too relaxed going on today

He put us on the wrong foot from the start, if we had started the game like we finished it then we might have put the game to bed before Mcgregor felt the need to chuck one in

Everyone has a bad game now and then. Think Elmo suffered from playing under some very strange instructions today. He seemed to keep getting moved all over the pitch, it didn't make sense. But there you go.

A few times he popped up on the right wing. It didn't seem like they were swapping wings or anything.

He did the same against Huddersfield, at least once anyway

They weren't, he was just being moved about, he was behind the strikers and spent a bit of time running the left channel trying to link up with Clucas.

I think it was one of Bruce's crazy experiments like Cairney up front, Chester at right back, Alex Bruce in central midfield or Allan McGregor in goal.
