First couple of games may go a long way to deciding whether we panic buy in the last week of the window.

I think it's clear the club don't want world class players just sitting on the bench anymore which means our squad does look light in places. A couple of key injuries and we will really struggle but same could be said of most of the sides. Probably only Arsenal can cope because they have so many similar and interchangeable players. But if United lost Rooney or City lost Aguero, they'd be in as much trouble as us without a Fabregas, Costa, Hazard etc.

We definitely need a left back and it looks like it'll be Rahman. I think season long loans are a mistake as well. An injury to one of the centre halves and we should be able to get one of our youth guys back - but no...we agree year deals.

We should have also gone for Pedro and flogged one of Cuadrado or Moses to fund. He's twice the player they are and bags of experience.

    We need to replace fabregas.

Hes been a passenger for the last 6 months.

Awesome against bottom half teams (when hes in the mood) but lacks the physicality to play in the pivot.

Lacks the pace to play behind costa and cant press.

Just slow in general so were always over run.

Passing has been poor for a long time in general too.

Hes the biggest impediment to our success, vidal and matic at the pivot would propell us to cl semis guaranteed.

Why we didnt sign him for what? 28mill?

    Only god knows

He lacks the physical presence needed for that position and leggy at times.
If he is rested and rotated properly he will continue to do the same amazing stuff from first half of last season.

This is the classical trap that winning (and promoted) managers fall into. Trust the players who won you the title. But standing still is not an option if you wish to retain the title. The players who won the title feel less hungry and less threatened unless new talent puts their position under pressure. The best time to reinforce is when you've won.

Jose will learn that to his cost. <ok>

I honestly cant believe its Jose who is making the bad judgement re:Transfers. His mood says to me that he is unhappy with the transfer business if anything. Who knows though

Perhaps players just keep turning Chelsea down? What does Katie have to say about it?

If that was the case the media wouldn't shut up about it.

Just messing mate, I have seen Augsburg a few times but never noticed him. That can be a good thing or a bad thing for a full back.

before the start of the season I wrote you s off ..basicly cause you have no pace or skill from the wings ,, jm bought to many similar players in midfield ... playing hazard wide is stupid .he be perfect just behind the striker given free role .. just my view yous need fast tricky wingers and maybe a cf with real pace .

ha ha , at this moment in time ...hazard gets sniffed out wide .. only really attack from the middle Chelsea , but they easy sniffed out there aswell , to crowded ...Juan Cuadrado to slow and offers really nothing from wide ... top teams know this ..so aint really feared ... just my view like

There may well be some truth to the lack of attacking flair. However, and I say this as a neutral (WBA) you are only 2 games in and played a superb possession side in Swansea and another in Man City. Apparently Chelsea are about two weeks behind on pre season schedule so sadly for WBA it looks like we will get the backlash!

The concern if I were a Chelsea fan is the lack of versatility and options. The thing with Mourinhos 4-3-3 is that the wide players need to be very fast and one of the central midfielders needs to get up to support the line man Costa. Previously you had Lampard who was the best man in the business at that.

Fabregas seems to be in no mans land at the moment whereas he was much more attacking in the first part of last season which is when Chelsea for me looked at their best.

With him not doing that now it all falls to Hazard and people are just crowding him out wide and Chelsea are stuck narrow.

That's when the Schurrles and De Bruynes could have added more possibly?
