Regarding possession, we had less in most of those games we won in the run-in last season. It's what you do with it that matters. West Ham spend most of the first ten minutes today passing it around in their own half unchallenged. That never has and never will win you games.
Possession is way over rated, it certainly doesn't win you a game of football Thoroughly deserved win today, anyone that says different was watching a different match. West ham had a decent 20 minute spell at the start of the second half, but we were very clever in slowing the game down and frustrating their players and fans and taking the wind out of their sails. I think we are becoming more "street wise" The players confidence has carried over from the end of last season. Is that now 9 wins out of our last 11 premier league games? Something like that. We probably made a mistake starting Oxford although it was almost impossible to drop him after his performance against Arsenal. Had we started with Obiang in his place we'd have won the game quite comfortably. It is going to take Bilic a few months to de-allardyce us but the signs are there that we'll be a good footballing side when it all comes together.
Sorry buddy, saw no evidence whatsoever that one change would have allowed you to win the game comfortably! I think, had we not gone two up, we wouldn't have taken our foot off the gas as we did in the second half.
