14 miles. Up the A1 to the A59. Head towards knaresborough then straight across the new roundabout continue towards knaresborough about half a mile further it is signed at a right turn. Go past a few houses in a village and a left fork then it comes up on the right. Here is the website. http://www.tiger-inn.co.uk Take a look at their menu on the food and drink tab to make sure it's what you like and what you want to pay. It's good value. IMO. If you go I hope you enjoy. Happy birthday to moe.
Ps. Might be a bit far for you. But we had a brilliant meal at la grillade in ripon a couple of weeks ago. Google it if interested. I did have the dearest thing on the specials board. A massive fillet steak. It was massive! And everything was brilliantly cooked. £22 seemed cheap. I managed to eat all the steak, black pudding but the fantastic thrice cooked fat chips, salad and spectacular onion rings had to be left half fonished. I was stuffed. Before any of you start.. Foodie advice is allowed on the breakfast thread.
About the same distance s Wixley then and I rather like the look of the Ripon one as well .My cousin is staying with us and his sister they live in Toronto and I have to think of somewhere to take them everyday for a month so that's two places to visit Knaresboro and Ripon plus 12 days in Scotland touring both the east and west coast staying 2 nights at his friends castle in Turrif sounds good plus I have booked on a whale watching tour and the jacobite train featured in Harry Potter from Fort William I would be grateful if anyone had any suggestions re places to visit whilst on the tour .We begin at Ayr to see the electric brae motor north and then east to Turrif and then south to see Falkirk wheel and then Berwick Holy island Bamburgh castle and home .Not bad for a doddera to drive all that!
If you want some more nautical activity. We went to Findhorn near Inverness and a company call north58 http://www.north58.co.uk they do a brilliant dolphin and seal trip. Seem to think it was £25 for two hour trip and we were within inches of Dolphins for most of the time. Plus the pub in beautiful Findhorn served brilliant food. I guess you have your hotels sorted. If not try http://www.crerarhotels.com fantastic hotels all over Scotland. Their dinner B and B deals include a six course dinner and breakfast is brilliant and cooked to order, none of that dried up buffet ****e.
Booked the whale watching £50 each! Hotels booked early because he his bad on his feet so I got ground floor rooms I went for Good Band B from trip advisor and I have booked a meal at EE Usk in Oban its like our Magpie.I have eaten their before probably take him to Isle of Mull
Our friends run The Hare & Hounds in Burton Leonard that they've turned around in the last year or so. We love it. It's got very good reviews on Trip Advisor (better than the Tiger Inn ) http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restau...Hounds-Harrogate_North_Yorkshire_England.html Menus ... http://hareandhoundsburtonleonard.com/menus.html
i'll do it now she deserves a rest poor lass she has been making curtains and putting them up for her son all week as he is moving to Clifford
Much Further for Mike to drive ( and he would be driving past my front door). Nothing wrong with the hah but of the two I prefer the TI
