I ask this question because i want to know why i put my self through this feeling every week to the point where it effects my up and coming week.

I like the many thousands more can't honestly figure out what has/is going wrong with our once great club . Year after year, new ideas, new players and new managers come and go, yet the only consistant is the sheer feeling of dissapointment post 90% of games. O'Neil attempted quality over quantity, Di canio tried quantity over quality, Poyet tried to go the familiar approach with south americans and Brighton players. Nothing has worked unfortunately.

Even after last weeks shamobilic display myself and thousand others attended the game with (be it) blind faith for the team we love, optimism or routine, yet we still come in numbers. These numbers prior to the match where pouring out of the club shop, spending their hard earned cash to purchase the new sunderland must have items (i myself spent close to £100). The majority of people in the shop probably dont earn in one year, what the team make in one week however they still show their love for the cause of mid-table mediocrity. This in itself is depressing that all us fans want to be is mediocre, is that really too much to ask?

Upon entering the ground however this is were the optimism stopped as everthing just felt flat. Their was no atmosphere from the fans, no passion from the players. Is it possible that the team has finally killed the once great 'Roker Roar'?. Teams use to be petrified of playing Sunderland at the SOL, now they know if they can hold out for 20 mins, the fans will get impatient, the players nervous and this is when we get picked off. Dick requested 6 quality players at the end of last season. Mid-week he confirmed he has only receieved one of those. Mr Short you have 5 more players to get. We need another full back, centre half, winger, creative midfielder and striker. Will we get these? I very much doubt it. I imagine 3 players and 2 of those being loans and this seriously worries me as looking at todays bench we lacked depth and quality.

I feel Pants, Coates, M'villa, Watmore and Defoe (who constantly was dropping back to try and get involved) are probably the only players who can hold their hands up and "i showed up today". The rest of the players however may as well have not have even bothered attending the game as a guy from Italy made more effort to get to the pitch than they did.

Apologies for the rant, however for once i have no idea how we move forward. Yet no doubt ill still be there next week paying for petrol, drinks, food, parking and making myself poorer and safc richer for no other reason that its what my heart tells me instead of my head.

M'Vila 96% passing accuracy today. When was the last time a Sunderland midfielder had them sort of stats?

I thought M'Villa was probably our best player which i know isnt hard. He looked unfit, however put a shift in, was hard in the challenge and could pick a pass. Shame we dont have the same quality around him.

Where was Giachh today. Not even in the squad. Is he injured again or are we selling him as well?

He did mate and Lens showed flashes of brilliance.

I'm sick of hearing about these poor new signings and I'm convinced if we can get another 2-3 new ones in then we will improve. I'm sure of it mate, I know it's hard to see now but these are better players getting dragged down to the current level.

I'd say we are selling him mate, no mention of injury.

Flabbergasted if we are selling him mind as it's creativity we are crying out for.

Doesn't sound like a rant at all mate. Good post.

At the moment I'm pretty much shell shocked on the reports of the performance. It already sounds like a squad absolutely void of confidence.

I don't see how bringing in 2 quality signings, as has been mentioned over the last couple of weeks, is going to make any difference to the squad.

I don't think it's a lack of quality in the squad, I'm sure most of our players could be slotted into many other PL teams and fit right in. For me the problem is more chronic than that. It's a question of mentality, whether it's fear, inferiority, self-belief or something else.

I've no idea what their mental issue, but there's no commitment to the team, the squad, the manager, the club, the fans, or even themselves.

There's just no "sense of team" and if that is the case, we're in deep ****.

If we concede the first goal everything goes to ****. I would love to see our points tally from the last couple of seasons after conceding first. I would be shocked if it was anything higher than 10.

Was piss poor today like reminded me of Villa and Palace last year.

I will hazard a guess that 99% of the people there today will be back next week. I know I will and so will you Poolie. There is no explanation for it it is just simply what we do.

RedNWhite, I would normally be there next week, as I am every home game, but to be honest Im pleased Im going on the lash and to The Ebor meeting for a few days mate.
At this moment in time I'm not even bothered about checking our score as I fully expect Swansea to annihilate us. Hope I am proved wrong

At one point, Jeff selling on Sky said that after the break they would name all of the fans still sitting in the SoL <doh>

I'm sure you will be checking your phone every 30 seconds mate. If you have prior plans then that is fair enough but as you say if you didn't you would be there. Emotions always run high after a loss but come Friday night we will be buzzing again and getting ready to turn up in our thousands with nothing other than blind faith. It's not something I can describe. We wouldn't pay to watch a **** film or a **** play but we will happily pay to watch the lads when we can say with about 95% certainty that what we are going to watch will be ****.

What a helmet. No one left at half time everyone was going for a pint and frankly who can blame them?

your right of course and my optimism will return but if we cannot get owt off Leicester or Norwich I really fear a thumping off Swansea. I would settle for losing every bet for the three points.

Not one single positive to come out of that game whatsoever.
****e, crap, garbage, pish, detritus, spew, phlegm, winnets, arsehole scrapings.
We are ****ing ****e & anyone that denies it is a ****ing idiot.
**** this KTF bollocks, whoever invented that phrase should be shot with pig ****.
Almost 40 years I've followed this club & it's always been bollocks apart from the Peter Reid era.
    Regards.

I thought Watmore was a positive, Billy. I thought M'Vila and Defoe done alright, but yeah I agree about the rest. I agree we are ****e as well, no doubt about it. I'm giving the club until September before I rant at them. If nothing changes I'll be as outraged as everybody else on here.
