I think actually Barry would be far happier playing against Pelle than Mane or Long (though as Ralph says he's not likely to be playing CB). Fortunately we have all three.

If Lukaku gets strong against Maya it could be interesting at the other end too.

Yes, I watched the highlights of your Watford game and it wasn't the Everton that I knew playing. Too much farting around while Lukaku got little service.

Unfortunately that's the Everton since the start of last season. We have no urgency with the ball and generally lose and the open to the counter attack. We picked up a bit last season but by which time our season was pretty much over. A case of to little to late imo

At Feyenoord he was up with the very best, something like 56 goals in 64 appearances, although you have to take into account the level of the Eredivisie. He scored 16 goals last season and hit the post 10 or 11 times, the most of any league striker. If half of those had gone in it's a very impressive first season. 16 is respectable anyway. Also he had one goal not attributed to him which stopped him from obtaining his first hat-trick for us. It was the kind of shot that Toure or Rooney would have claimed and no dubious goals panel would have got involved.

How much, if any, would you attribute to being in the Europa.? And how much maybe player quality and or Martinez.? That's tough question, I realise.

Europa obviously had an effect due to the fact we had to play quite a few more games, but if you want to be successful then that's part of the price. I put a lot of it down to martinez. His first season with us took me by surprise ( in a pleasant way) but last season was more like what I expected. I just don't think he is good enough. As always when I don't like someone or think they are good enough for my club, I would rather be proved wrong.

Tbh, although I have quite liked the way Martinez gets his teams to play I don't think he's quite upto Everton's level either. I know Everton are in a peculiar situation at present, with no more money than any other club and with a proud history and supporters who still have memories of league titles. Can't be great seeing the ambitions dying back a bit.

    Agreed on Europa.

Part of the problem is the chairman & the board imo. While it is well documented that Kenwright loves the club, I don't think he is suited to running a club. Also why do we continue to spend so little money with so many record deals with sky? Anyway I am depressed enough without going over all of it again :emoticon-0106-cryin

The poor fellow. I blame his parents. It would appear that he must have been kept home from school as a child as there are no signs of the basic elements of a decent education. His grammar is atrocious as is his knowledge of history, geography and just about every other academic discipline. I thought for one moment he was a Skate then I realised he had managed to spell more than three words correctly. In the end poverty, unemployment, parental neglect, malnutrition, and excessive masturbation have taken their toll on the poor little sod's intellectual development. No wonder Cunard and all those other shipping companies left Liverpool a hundred years ago if this little moron is indicative of the pride of Liverpool manhood. I have never been so pleased that Liverpool is as far away from Southampton as it is. Imagine having to live with a Scouser as a neighbour. You would have to make your house as secure as Fort Knox if you wanted to hang on to your belongings.

Tadic was excellent against Newcastle. Hardly deserves being dropped.

Wranglers, the only quality jeans that really fitted me like a glove. I could buy them without even having to try them on first.

I'd been keeping a stonewashed black pair of them safe for about 25 years [crikey, more like 30+]. I wore them probably 10 times, so they are still in the peak of condition. But I stopped wearing jeans for a while and went over to chinos. Then I went back to jeans and they were way too small, but I couldn't dispose of them. There they hung up in the wardrobe until I finally gave up ever fitting them again. If I ever lose enough weight I still don't think I'll be small enough around the hips, so recently I gave them to a nephew of mine. He makes them look good again. I thought about giving them to charity but wanted them to go to an appreciative home. The nephew thinks they're cool so that's good enough.
