You can't have a policy on things such as Social Media and then pick and choose who it applies to, its discrimination.
I didn't think he had If he has then the media are at fault for making such a big deal about the female doctor but not the physio
You can have a club policy that applies to anyone employed by the club with a list of subjects they must not talk about such as refs performance, That doesn't discriminate against anyone, it's a blanket rule for everyone. In effect you're not picking and choosing who it applies to, but picking and choosing what they can and can't say.
I said that yesterday. I don't think JM has been sexist but the media seem to be in their reporting of it.
Just found this from JM's press conference today: 12:33 Mourinho: 'Dr Fearne and Dr Carneiro could be on the bench in the future' 'Your question about the bench. For some people it's important. For others, it's not... It's my decision. I have seven assistants, only four can go on bench. 'Seven kitmen, only two. Medical, only two on bench... Dr Fearne and Dr Carneiro will not be on the bench, but doesn't mean Sunday is the rest of the season or the rest of their careers. 'My decision does not mean they won't be on the bench in the future. 'If you want to speak about football, I'm here. If you want to talk about other issues, I'm not here.' Asked if he regretted the incident last weekend, Mourinho said: 'The game is emotional space for every one of us.... football is football. The match is the match. And everything in the match can be different. 'In the meeting I had with my medical staff yesterday, the feedback I got is that the relationships we had going back two years we good relations. 'If somebody thinks that a disagreement between two members of the medical staff and the manager can affect the week, that is don't have a clue about what football is and what the preparations for matches is. Mourinho adding that he doesn't believe the players need an explanation as to why Dr Carneiro and Dr Fearn won't be on the bench on Sunday. 'The most important thing for the players is the medical care they have during the week,' he says. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3197473/Jose-Mourinho-Chelsea-news-conference-LIVE-Boss-speaks-time-Eva-Carneiro-backlash.html#ixzz3in3KysEY
Bascially oh **** need to have a climb down here. but i'm willing to bet you any money here that she will be leaving the club when the thing dies down.. she could be on gardening leave til may for all we know
He's dropped them both. They've both had the same treatment from him - pardon the pun. It seems it's the media who are concentrating on the female doctor!
the first report was the physio did not get dropped. they've probably got him ****ed out to even it up.
D'you know what, if wishi hadn't started this thread, I wouldn't have given the whole thing a second thought
Take the sexism bit away, bar one report there's been no evidence of it. The climbdown will be after every doctors association, fifa doctors etc have condemned him for basically insisting his doctors break their oaths and risk criminal proceedings so his players can continue to dive or feign injury. She's got the headlines because shes been confident enough to tell him to pull his head out of her arse. We'll soon see if she's happy with the compromise as apparently she's hired some top lawyers to look at it. Demotion like this may be ok for a mouthy player or assistant manager as its the norm in the ego driven world of football. but Doctors can't allow their reputation to be undermined in this way though. And anyway talking of ego..ever met a doctor that didn't have a good sized one themselves?
Why are the FA not getting involved? There's a precedent being set/allowed here that some managers in some situations can pick and choose when to allow medical assistance on the pitch, regardless of the opinions of medical professionals. Bottom line: guy with a coaching badge v woman with medical qualifications. Has Call Me Dave felt the need to comment yet?
This. Has this modern world really got to the point where a Football Manager ranks above a ****ing Doctor!?
If you look at this another way, the physio goes running on to a player [who's not unconscious] - did the team doctor need to go on as well? If it was worse injury than expected, would the physio not call for the additional help of the doctor? Would JM have had an issue just with physio going on, was it more that they both went running on? I know the main issue for him was being down to 9 players for a few seconds but she could have escaped the backlash by not going on the pitch in the first place.
The FA are ****ing cowards. Mourinho repeatedly enters the field of play without permission, screams obscenities from the touchline, and make friviolous appeals against bans. The FA won't even apply the existing rules let alone make a judgement against him on something more unusual. At least FIFA have the integrity (****ing lol) to condemn Mourinho: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...tment-by-Jose-Mourinho-condemned-by-Fifa.html
