I watched the game last night hoping to see more of Pedro. It was a long wait, but weel worth it as he was superb once he came on the field. He won't have the same time and space in the PL but his first touches and his ability to find space were excellent. The guy simply doesn't stop, but unlike many, there was a purpose and a positive end result to almost everything he did. On that evidence alone he would be a fantastic addition to the team.

Van Gaal had earlier said Barcelona forward Pedro fits the template of a quick, penetrative player he is still looking for.

"Pedro is a player like that," he said. "So write it."

The 28-year-old Spain international, who has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, is said to have told Barca he wants to leave.

"You have to ask Pedro, not me," said Van Gaal. "I don't mention anything before he has signed. When he has signed I come to you and say: 'Hey, Pedro is here.' That is not the case and we shall wait and see."

Safe to say we are signing him now?:emoticon-0100-smile

Have we been gazumped or missed out on him yet ? How much notice do our opponents want of our intention to sign a player - very slow on their part I must say............... time yet though, Woodward is busy putting the final touches to another bid for Ronaldo and several other players who don't want to join us ......................zzzz

Again. It's not football manager. Multi million pound deals take time. Once the deal is agreed the rest of the transfer will take a matter of hours. Barcelona are as much at fault as anyone, it's a player they clearly have no intention of giving enough game time too but want to squeeze a few more million for him. They will also be wanting to put some stupid buy back clause in just Incase he turns out to be better than ever because that's what they do.

Any negotiator who goes in and pays the asking price right away doesn't remain in that position for two long.

I guess you're ITK again. The ticket office phone up and tell you that the buy out clause is €100m? General consensus is €30m but you're a Sky Sports generation fan so you know best!

Are we going to be gazumped?

They have less need for a striker than us. They already have Aguero, Bony, Sterling etc. They are doing this to make sure United don't get stronger...

pedro wants game time. So why would he go to a club where he would be restricted? They've already signed sterling (too, them an age to do so as well) and have been trying to sell others off as they have far too many.

Makes no sense for the player or the club in city's case. More likely just a **** stirring story as usual. Steve believes it though but he's no sky fan, just that sky told him that the release fee is €30million euros so it must be....

Except why would any club offer the release fee plus an extra 2million? The release fee would be enough surely?

ballague on sky has apparently said city have offered 30million plus 2million.

Someone should explain to sky and balague how release clauses actually work...

Various non sensational media outlets have reported the same buy out figure. You know better though, you always know better. Sky Sports generation fans always think they're ITK as some equally ITK moron is interviewed on Sky and comes out with a random opinion that becomes fact for the ITKs. The reality is they KFA. You know FA.

Di Maria isn't going to sign for PSG apparently. The ticket office said so.

You mean like how you heard some random spanish bloke on Sky claim how City have paid the release clause (and then some..... hmmmm) so youve now decided its correct.

Don't panic - just in case Woodward hasn't done I've emailed some of the big clubs around Europe to let them know that Pedro is available. I thought I'd save him some time, him being busy finalising the Ronaldo and Messi bids
