    That's my plan too. Friday nights out have evaporated due to me not wanting to put myself through it all before working a matchday.

    From a match-going fan's view, this must also be better than a Monday game. End of the working week, can still enjoy your weekend afterwards and don't have to panic about rushing back for work the following morning. Unless you work weekends, of course.

    Friday night games have been around for a very long time. Back in the 1980's is my the earliest recollection. However, they are few and far between.
    The Football League do quite a few per season. I don't like Monday games. It spoils the Monday Night Club on R5L because they finish early.

    I thought it might have become another 'off' day for football permanently but thankfully Tom has alleviated that fear (if only for this season).

    Yes saw that. A pathetic load of drivel I thought so he can make out he's the big man. Ironically not admitting he overacted and was therefore wrong has made him look like a small man. Sometimes I quite like him and sometimes like now he just lets himself down.

    One off until next season when they will be a regular thing. The reason why Villa v United is tonight is that first, it was chosen by Sky as a live match and secondly the police banned it from Sunday due to an EDL march in Birmingham.

    Yes. Although the waters are a little muddier than at first sight, there's no doubt that he can't allow himself to back down. I guess to his mentality he loses a bit of his specialness if he backs down. Hey, maybe he believes he did the right thing. I certainly don't. You don't humiliate people in public. Criticising players maybe one thing. Staff is another, especially when they are doing their job. It's a line that you don't cross.
