I remember, I used to go there all the time as a kid, my grandma lived round the corner on Lomond Road.

Slightly off track here, well off track in fact and nothing to do with the Rank Hovis place, I set out to travel, on my bike, along the public footpath that goes from St Andrews Quay all the way to King George Dock, well that was my intention as I used to do that bike ride many a time in the past. So I gets to St Andrews Quay and bikes past the Lord Line building and my first obstacle, the public footpath is fenced off. So double back and go down Scarborough St to Goulton St and join the footpath further down, no chance this once public footpath is not accessible anymore. So I stick to the main road until I get to the Marina then along to the old ferry terminal meaning to cross over the footbridge to The Deep, I can't its fenced off for the building works down there.

So back through Fruit onto Vicky Dock and the footpath that follows the Humber all the way down to King George only you can't get there now more construction works means the public footpath is no more and doesn't look like it will be in the future as a new cycle/footpath has been built around the construction site that brings you out on to Hedon Rd, I gave up at this point. I hadn't realised that this once public footpath/cycle path has been totally lost to the city it kept you away from the traffic and on a weekend afternoon was a tranquil place to walk/ride parallel to the Humber, alas it seems it is no more.

Went in it a few times when it was still inhabited. Some very very dodgy people were living there.

regarding the former frank dees store on Spring Bank West. I understand its not being demolished, just a new front being put on it for a HERON Shop. So get your pyjamas on and get shopping!

Aye, I saw that mentioned on Facebook this morning, I don't remember it when it was a stand-alone cinema building, but it looked much nicer back then...

I remember it like this, and went a few times. It general looks started going down hill once Frank Dee's supermarket started.

That's not up to date. The middle section of the main wall on the left is now partly demolished.

I thought it didn't look like it had changed much, the bloke who posted it said it was yesterday.

They shouldn't have knocked it down. Same with so many historical buildings in Hull that are getting ripped down for characterless buildings.

Sad to see iconic Hull buildings not being reappropriated. I would have like to have seen it converted to a hotel.

I was in the Transport Museum recently and there is a history of this building, I hadn't realised until then how much the company contributed to the prosperity of Hull.

An update on George Lamb Memorial Chapel demolition application - Historic England have written to HCC planning department and requested permission to do a full structural survey on the Chapel on Sept 2nd. Hopefully they'll counter the owners claim that the structure is unsafe and needs to be demolished.
