    I thought the medics could only come on if summoned by the ref but perhaps I'm wrong?

    I know we aren't in till round 3, but I had the feeling that we always played a League Cup game as the second game of the season...if so why aren't some PL teams in at this stage. Have things changed or am I imagining it?

    In the football league days we did ... never have as a PL team (as far as I can recall, at least!!)

    The Premier League season has started earlier this year, due to EURO2016 - that could be one aspect.

    12 PL clubs go into the next round, then Saints in round three.

    Jake Livermore update...

    The drugs test that he was failed on was due to finding cocaine in his system. Livermore was struggling with depression, as his baby passed away. He then went on a massive bender which saw him snorting cocaine and drinking lord knows what.

    All sounds very grim and sad.

    Been talking on Sky about Mourinho and the team doctor and who was right. They have footage clearly showing that the ref asked the player, then signalled to the medical team twice to come on. It was also pointed out that not even the manager or chairman can overrule a doctor's decision...so the player's health is the first consideration not the game....which let's remember was the first game of the season and not a Champions' League Final. She snapped back at Jose when he berated her, so suspect that's one relationship that has broken down...the physio just kept his head down.

    The choices are that she is reinstated and Mourinho at least suggests he may have over reacted or the doctor leaves. Tough one...what do you think is likely?:rolleyes:

    I saw that Fran. It would be so refreshing if he came out and just said it was spur of the moment and he got it wrong... oh look, a flying pink thing just went passed my window.

    Don't know the guy, but this behaviour is simply **** management. Criticising employees in an inappropriate way provided me with a lot of my work as a trade union case worker!

    If you mean Jeff Mostyn, yes, he does seem a very likeable chap, and genuine with it too. He made me laugh at the end of last season when Bournemouth won the title and he hugged his players like a father. Typically, they were all twice his size. :)

    It's on Youtube somewhere.
