How he treated that lady doctor with regard to Hazard was abysmal. Consider how it went down when Cech was injured all those years ago and he went off on one at the Reading medics for not doing their job, so now he has a go at one of his own for doing hers!

Can anyone win under this loon?

I would have thought that except for sudden collapses or head injuries, the doctor would have to get the okay from the manager before running on.

I don't know the precise rules, but a part of the ref's responsibilities is to ensure the safety of the players- so if he decides that a doctor is necessary then surely he can summon one without consulting anyone?

From what I can gather 'twas the ref who called on the medics; Maureen had no say in it. From what I can also gather Hazard was play acting, therefore, should not Maureen have played along instead of making his colleagues feel uncomfortable?

Yes, that as well. But didn't this one just go legging on when Hazard went down?

I agree Mourinho shouldn't have reacted to it the way he has, banning her from the bench now <doh>

I only read the BBC page on it, which doesn't give specifics - and his reaction to it made me think she must have run on spontaneously. A quiet word in private would be more appropriate but JM doesn't do appropriate <laugh>

    You still fancy him?

Dunno, JB. I didn't actually see the incident- just some of the media fallout.

  8. Sexuality had no relevance to the situation, Mourinho's just been a complete cock. If he wanted to blame anyone for wasting time it should have been Hazard. Don't roll around like you're from Brighton if you're not injured FFS <doh>

The medical teams are there for the clubs, they have no interest (in a professional manner) what the score or result is, they are there to provide medical care should it be needed. That is their priority, not the final score.

    Question:

I did not see this game

    1. Did the ref stop the game for hazard to be treated

    2. did the ref wave the physio's on?

    3. would the ref have sent hazard to the sideline as he stopped the game anyway?

  10. I didn't see the game either but...

    1. Don't know

    2. Pretty much everyone is saying the referee waved on the medical staff. The female doctor (can't remember her name) wasn't even the first to react, the Chelsea physio was!

    3. Players only go to the sideline if they receive treatment.

So if the player rolls about, the refs stops the game and he jumps up the ref can either book him or can do nothing?

In any event.... just need to google i suppose. could have been stopped for another set piece

    He's a poor loser.

His team didn't do as well as expected so he had to lash out at someone. Unfortunately she was the one who took his wrath this time. Next time it will be a coach, or a ref, or an ambulance squad. Whoever he can blame to take frustrations off himself.

    Poor sport.

  13. Said it for years, players rolling about feigning injury only to jump up deserve to be punished. If you're fouled then you're fouled, you don't need to roll about trying to get the other player booked or waste time. Only stay down if you're genuinely injured or in pain.

"There was a little more than 90 seconds left of the four minutes of allocated injury time when the Swansea captain Ashley Williams clattered into Eden Hazard as the Chelsea forward looked to break forward. Williams was rightly shown a yellow by referee Michael Oliver, who then beckoned for the medical staff to enter the pitch to treat Hazard. The first-team physiotherapist Jon Fearn was the first to cross the touchline, closely followed by Carneiro.

Mourinho erupted in anger immediately, turning away and shouting obscenities that were clearly audible from the press box. At first, it seemed as though he may be shouting at Hazard, who looked over at his manager as he was led off the pitch. But as Carneiro was making her way back to her seat, Mourinho pulled her to one side and whispered in her ear for a few seconds, before turning towards Fearn as he walked past and loudly venting his frustrations once again."

so bascially cheslea had a free and williams got a yellow so cheslea would have had possession of the ball as well as the fact that the physio who was unpunished publically.

ergo moutrinhos been after this doctor for a while and this was his excuse.

To address the 'chauvinist' part of the OP - I don't think JM was, or is, being chauvinistic with this but the reaction to it definitely seems to be. Would the reaction have been the same if it was a male doctor?

Ref counts to 10. If you're still down at 10 you leave the field for two mins.

  17. TalkSport said it right earlier today (not often I say that); had Mourinho not jumped up and down on the touch line throwing a hissy fit, none of this would be in the media. they could have taken the same actions and we'd be none the wiser. Jose simply can't control his own emotions and he's a sore loser (not always a bad thing in professional sport)

  19. Good idea although the rule of having to go off after receiving treatment is stupid IMO. Especially in the circumstances Chelsea were in having already lost a player. Plus keepers are excluded from the ruling so if they want to time waste they just get the keeper to do it.

Why don't we just add the appropriate time on instead? Too simple?

This, had they won 2 0 v Swansea this would never even have come up, instead of banging on at the doctor Jose would have banged on about refs protecting Hazard instead<doh>
