Personally I'd rather have someone who thought about it carefully and was then 100% committed than someone who jumped in with both feet and the regretted it. Time will tell. As Take That said - have a little patience!
I don't think it's a case of thinking about it carefully, he's being forced out and we are the last resort. He doesn't want to be here that seems obvious.
100% agree,it will cause major factions,we do not want players here that want to be elsewhere. welcome to not 606,good bunch on here devon
This supposed transfer is becoming so poisonous that I would walk away from any further discussions before we embarrass ourselves, and if he wants to become another Nicky Maynard then so be it.
If you offered Premier League football to any member of our side they'd ditch us in a heartbeat. I've got no problems with Gayle wanting to wait it out. I'd rather play in the Premier League on good wages than play for a team just promoted from League 1 that will pin all their hopes this season on you.
Ah yes, a Canadian welcome to you Devon. Dissention in the dressing room is the last thing we need after some previous years ripped us apart.
I understand this, but he needs to realise that IF he signs for us as a last resort he will need to work extremely hard to win hearts and minds. If he scores boatloads of goals and gets us promoted we will all be fine and dandy. If he sulks around, soaking up precious wages without scoring then he will be vilified. The pressure is on him.
Look it's a big decision to make and either way I don't blame him for taking a little bit of time to consider his options - we all would? I also don't blame Cotts for saying we can't hang around forever - sound like Friday may be decision day for him? (though Palace have no game Saturday)
The pressure is only on him to make up his mind. If he signs then we will be happy but if he doesn't we will all agree it was a good miss and that we are better off without him. Every player will choose the Prem over little ol us despite the money being offered.
he is obviously not good enough for Palace, only Norwich have shown an interest some time ago so they expect to find someone better? or may just nip in to have back up. we seem to have a unforeseen prob with kojack language ..bear in mind French for left and straight ahead /forward are pretty close!
We should set deadlines when having talks with players and then move on. Feel a bit sorry for Gayle as he is clearly under pressure from Palarse.
At a decent level Gayle has 12 goals in 48. That's exactly 1 in 4. Rather go for Gray who got 18 last year in Championship though £7m is a big ask for that too
Crystal Palace FC @CPFC 1h1 hour ago AP: Dwight can play in the Premier League, for sure. Having said that, Bristol City are a great club, with momentum. The decision is his.
Sounds like Dwight is still thinking about it then judging by AP's press conference. TBH I see this more of a goer then the Gray transfer, I wouldn't pay a million more for Gray and I'm not really sure why Gray would leave Brentford to come to us at the present time.
"I'm not really sure why Gray would leave Brentford to come to us at the present time" Because we are Bristol City of course!
Time to move on,he would have said yes today,go spend the money on someone that wants to be hear. imagine the pressure the kid would be under, with us fans knowing we were a last resort. Fully understand him wanting to see what was out there, but no other have had a official bid excepted.
