Why are we all speculating about circumstances we don't know? He was found guilty of taking a banned substance & there appear to be mitigating circumstances (that have been known about for some time now). Let due process take its course & once all the facts are known then we can make our educated comments rather than guess as all are now doing. I would agree with OLM that's it's taking an awful long time to resolve, but there's nothing we can do about that, so let's wait.

People are mainly discussing the mitigating circumstances here, what is there to wait for?

But there's nothing new here - the circumstances were known about last season.

It seems quite a few people didn't know he'd lost a child so I'd suggest that is why its being discussed. If the discussion bores you cos you know everything already then I'd recommend not reading this thread. There you go, all sorted!

His A test was positive. I don't recall anything official regarding his B test. He's yet to have a hearing to establish guilt. Due process is a bummer eh?

I suspect that if SB could have that time again he may say things a bit different.

    Spot on ^^^^^^^^^^. <ok>

Most of us do John. Jake Livermore has hardly commited the crime of the century and deserves a 2nd chance for sure. Hopefully with expert help the healing process is underway and Jake is in a better place.

The FA should apply a suspended punishment along with time served. Plus JL should have to undergo regular testing.

The sooner a line can be drawn under this the better. Jake is needed for our promotion push. :emoticon-0103-cool:

You can't justify his behaviour because he lost a child, sorry

Just to clarify, I hope Livermore gets grief counselling, and rehabilitation, fair enough, but you can't say turning to coke is OK in the circumstances, not at all. Dealing with extreme grief and loss is part of life that everybody has to deal with. Blaming the manager for his behaviour is even more idiotic.

It is speculation anyway a lot of this, Tickler is right. Maybe he wasn't coked up driving his Lambo, but he got to training with it in his blood so it's a reasonable inference

The difference between an "ordinary worker" and a perm footballer is without all the private facts being made public we would all demand to know why the footballer was absent . We have had a few players recently missing for all sorts of family reasons and all obviously acted on here - but as an anniversary (which is what it is isn't it) maybe the club had lost touch with things and support just wasn't offered meaning JL may have felt obliged to carry on

you did not answer my question directly, however going by your last answer to me you are right it is none of my business and I am very sorry for your loss. we are all different and handle things in our own way, some people need more help than others and grief can do strange things to a persons mind and thought process, as I am sure you are aware. Again sorry you had that pain in your life
