Prevailing winds LTL come from the south-west. What you're getting passed by us to the south. It's Southampton, after all. We don't do really bad weather. My BBC Weather app on the S2 still doesn't really know what to forecast for this region. Gets it wrong half the time (not today though) often right upto the last minute. In truth, at the moment it's raining steadily but is beginning to ease up. Nothing remotely biblical.
We don't tend to get bad weather here because of the micro-climate with the downs. When it goes, it really goes. It's calmed down a lot now though.
Would be so awesome to live in Minas Tirith (as much as I prefer the way Rohan is portrayed in the film, Edoras wouldn't be quite as nice to live in) but there's no way they'll reach that amount unless a few people like Bill Gates, Richard Branson, etc get involved
On the strength of your biblical warnings, I texted my niece, who is on her way to Scotland today, but lives in Brighton and she says she has been informed her flat may have flooded. Not much fun.
Yeah, they'll never reach the target needed. Would be super cool though, and the sites they are looking at building it are both in Southern England!!
Just noticed that the choccie bar I have just eaten contains 42% of the saturated fat that an adult should consume in a day. Goodie....means I can have two.
Thats all I heard, one report saying soldiers from an NBC (nuclear, biological anc chemical) unit on the way due to possible contamination, but not reported what. Also one worker from the warehouse that exploded claimed that he had no training for such dangerous chemicals.
China is moving forward so fast that the infrastructure can't keep up. We have had health and safety in place for a long time, so every new business has to comply with the rules (and even then we have accidents).
I am a long way to the south of that area, One of my friends is about 120 kms from there and he says all is normal there. Maybe the contamination thing is being over exagerrated, hope so.
Probably just being careful....obviously explosives/inflammables involved....so contamination in one form or another is likely. Too much can be read into the training that the army has undertaken...just because they have been trained to deal with biological and nuclear contamination doesn't mean any is involved. Fingers crossed.
the air quality is being monitored, apparently it was an industrial feedstock called toluene that exploded
Toluene is nasty....can cause liver and kidney damage. Just looked it up....apparently people inhale it for fun and it can cause neurological damage.
