Interesting topic on Burnsy's show this morning regarding fracking. All due respect to Burnsy on this one, he had a telephone interview with Amber Rudd the Energy Secretary, and basically the government have now sent out a memo to every local authority stating that if they were to take longer than the government recommended 16 weeks in which to accept or decline a fracking planning application then it would be referred to main government who WOULD make the decision. Burnsy asked her what would happen if a local community had clearly stated that they didn't want fracking in their area! Would main government give the operator a licence anyway? Like a typical horrible MP she skirted around the question without answering it, so Burnsy asked exactly the same question again, click, she ended the call. Great investigative journalism, terrible MP's, same old, same old. Burnsy did explain afterwards that the radio stations were, in fairness, given time slots, so that the slot may have expired, however it seemed very convenient on the part of Amber Rudd. It hardly seems right and proper for a time slot to expire immediately after a difficult question has been asked, for the second time!
