But the US article says he missed Bolton's first 2 games injured, if I understand the American correctly! So is he fit to play Saturday or in the near future?
Bolton News say Ream hasn't played since returning from the Gold Cup due to a thigh injury, and is not expected to make Bolton's squad for their game this weekend! Don't look like he will be fit for a while.
True, but with our Owners we're hardly beggars! I hope our medical is as strict as the one Fer failed at Sunderland.
Read the blueprint on Beth's 'fan's forum' thread. The CEO, echoing Les, says the target is growth from a sustainable base, no buying our way back up. There will be no more big buys. The football club is a beggar, despite the (shrinking) wealth of its owners.
I've read all that - as said hardly makes us a beggar. We have, are, and will no doubt be buying more players this season, unless the likes of Austin, Fer, Green and Phillips all stay, which I think is ulikely. The target is growth and the PL, if from a sustainable base.
NorwayRanger said: ↑ Well Palace have already paid £6 million for him, and now apparantly there is another club willing to pay £6 million for him. If the market is willing to pay £6 million isn't he worth it then? Thought the market decided a players value. Not trying to be a dick, no hard feelings I hope Click to expand... Not trying to be pedantic but I don't think the market decides what ninj thinks he's worth. No offence taken at comments re Gayle's worth, my opinion is just mine. I would have thought that if Palace really rated him then he would have been a regular first team player last season. And I think he would be an assist on a years loan to us . Fair enough he did cost £6 mill from Peterborough where he scored loads of goals - personally, I think we have spent too much on more proven players in the past Mike Sheron readily comes to mind that proved to be a huge waste whereas I think Gayle has talent but needs more experience. Hope that clarifies a few things and again, no offence taken, just my opinion.
From a Bolton fan on teamTalk: paulmxuk (Bolton Wanderers): How can QPR sign anyone when they owe the league £50m plus! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29129536 Once again we sell off players for cheap, is his contract ending soon? I personally don't see this as good business, he is our best defender can play CB, LB or holding DM. He is worth twice what QPR are offering! Apart from the first sentence (enlightened fella), this sounds good to me.
Does sound like a decent deal....... The original post by the Bolton fan is a gas.......how much does Bolton FC owe to its main shareholder? something like £170m or thereabouts.....they need bit of a reality check as well......
If we get the Ream deal done, will everyone be happy with business done or do we need more at the back? Of course, we need another striker perhaps but aside from that what else do we need now? Another midfielder to replace Fer? I suppose we can't replace Fer unless he's actually taken by someone. Preferably like in the film Taken.
This bloke is going to cost £1.4m and is reportedly earning £20k a week. So that’s a £2.4m deal for this years books. Caulker’s loan fee £1.3m- He was reported to earn £40k a week pre relegation when we know he had a relegation clause in his contract. So assumed 25% reduction in wage he’s on £30k a week. So a £2.8m saving on this years books. That means by moving on Caulker and bringing in Ream we have saved £400k. Personally I think that’s bad business. Caulker underperformed last year in a bad side considering his £8m fee but that was more to do with some notable individual errors rather than repeated bad performances (for example he was without doubt our best in the air which we have now lost). Add to that he has four seasons previous to that where he has proved himself a good player. Not too many at all thought there was any issue at all for paying £8m at the time. So now we are likely to replace Caulker with a new bloke saving roughly £400k and replacing with him with a player who the Bolton fans seem to reckon is a “A centre half stuck in a left backs body” http://www.burndenaces.co.uk/forum/...eam-a-centre-half-stuck-in-a-left-backs-body/ I see that as bad business. Need another centre half on top of this as well. Ideally also a left winger but only if we can get rid of Hoieltt some how. And of course another striker when Austin goes. Not a Dwight Gayle type though. Because of our system it needs to be a centre forward who can play up front on his own.
Its good business. Caulker was fu*king sh*te and I'm glad to see the back of him. He was the doziest looking player we've ever had. Good riddance to the plank
Wasn't he their player of the season for the last two years? Hardly bad business seeing as how Chaulker hasn't exactly set the world on fire!
Caulker not playing Saturday.....sinus infection....will keep him out for a while I think the maths you produced Peter D, sounds good maths to me. (and no unexplained clashes to explain either) Read more: http://www.southampton.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=409175#ixzz3ihsz6cre
Don't think Ream is anywhere near 20k a week, closer to 10k if our new policy is to be believed. And again, Caulker is utter shait. Imposible to not improve on him almost regardless who we sign. And we've made money on it, what's not to like?
That is not how it works though Peter. The 1.4m fee will be spread over his contract period so if it is 3 years that will be under 500k per year.
