Sums it up well... https://nickbruzonslastword.wordpre...l-league-tonight-crashes-on-channel-5-launch/
I think it's fair to say, whatever look they were aiming for, they missed, and by a long, long way. They clearly didn't have any football fans involved in creating it.
I thought it was awful, seemed like they was going for a soccer am type of show and somehow managed to produce an even ****ter version of that
Recorded it as I went to pub instead. Watched it this morning. Well, I turned it off after City's brief highlights as I thought it was excruciatingly poor. The way they walked in at the start and all those berks in football shirts went "Wheeeey!". ****ing dire. Worse than Soccer AM. What's wrong with just introducing the matches from a seat? Less fluff, more football please.
Last time I watched channel 5 it was an England game. I swore I'd never watch it again. I forgot. I won't forget again. I'd rather just YouTube highlights. I don't get how they could actually **** it up that badly. 9 pm. Brilliant. Just show the ****ing highlights, in league order, with a decent expert to give some insight. Never do this again. Ever. ****s.
You know when everyone raves about a film, it's never as good when you finally get to see it? This is the same in reverse. It should be the case that you're expecting it to be bad, so it won't be that bad, right? Okay, your challenge is to find three good things about it. I'll give you the first one for free, the time slot is great.
It was an absolute shower of ****, embarrassing really. I'll be watching the Sky highlights shown midweek in future.
I think Kelly Cates is a really good broadcaster (as long as the people she works with don't constantly drone on about her father, which is why her being on with Lawrenson is excruciating). What she is doing within a million miles of this calamity is a mystery.
City seem to be posting the FL's official highlights on their YouTube channel, I posted them on the match thread earlier.
Turned it on about 10 minutes ago so I don't know if I've missed ours, but the format seems spot on tonight. Bits of highlights, short interviews and then next game.
The one tonight seems much better, they should just present from a ground each week instead of that studio ****e. Feels much more like the BBC one.
