Nah, they can have Barton ................ Greens staying.
In truth, we should of keep McCarthy cause we all new Green would go.
Our managements' thinking leaves a bit to be desired but who am I to say.

We should of kept McCarthy and sold Green. But it looked like Green has at least been practicing and improving his kicking last night - only 1 dud that I saw. 2 good saves too.

Why, is there a 'Son of Phil Parkes' to replace him that we don't know about?

McCarthy had a release clause met by Palace and no one wanted Green.

Yes, it's water under the bridge anyway now, but if McCarthy had had more games for us last season, and was given the message that good performances in training and games would get him more games this season, he may have wanted to stay.

Why would green go and warm their bench? He's better off where he is isn't he?

Don't agree. He was one of our better players last year - yes, I know he makes the occasional howler - but over all he was decent and kept McCarthy out

He'll be one of the best Championship keepers this season

No chance we will sell Green now that we had to let Mcarthy go, we don't even have a proper second choice keeper at the moment, even we aren't crazy enough to leave ourselves with no keepers!

We would be royally screwed without a decent backup keeper option if Green were to leave at this point in the season.

We really need to bring in someone as I`m not sure if Joe Lumley is ready to fill the #1 spot.

I'm sure if you need him he'll be absolutely fabulous.

No he won't. I watched him against Charlton and he was dreadful. He simply can't dive quick enough and his footwork is woeful.

    We sold our better keeper

That'll be the better keeper that let 5 in against Leicester

You don't really want to get in to an error vs error or goals conceded debate between McCarthy and Green do you?

Couldn't get a true comparison because Green's been doing it a great deal longer than McCarthy. Do you think that management was wrong having Green as first choice keeper last season?

I would have looked to move him on when we went down with Redknapp in all honesty. His ability doesn't justify his wage in my opinion.

Saying in the article, he wants to go...don't believe that (except for the money!)

Adrian is one of the best keepers in the PL, I don't see Green getting in ahead of him. With the Hammers out of Europe he'd be only likely to get Cup games and the odd game if Adrian was injured. Not exactly a ringing endorsement to keep his place in the England squad...
