    I'm quite assured that this is all happening now. The tumblers have been falling into place for some time, I just haven't noticed before. Little incidents like Van Dijk favouring Saints tweets and following Saints players are just the tip of the icing on the cake. I'm quite satisfied we'll end up with the chappie. It does feel rather odd though that the defender I wanted, even before Lovren was signed, is going to get here at last. One or two others must be feeling similar.

    Saints have a history of announcing things on a Thursday. Although they have bucked that trend recently. You may have 24 hours to prepare yourself. Or you may not.

    I know from experience because if I wasn't on the Net I'd get on especially for any announcement. Invariably it would be a false alarm, but once in a blue moon it would happen.

    Just trying to illustrate how small in significance the tip of the iceberg, and the icing on the cake, is/was. So I combined the two. On reflection, it does look a bit clumsy. :)
