Looks like van gaal has already made up his mind to continue playing Memphis as no 10. I hope it comes out good, but so far it hasn't been really good. Against spurs there was a huge gap between midfield and attack because memphis was unable to understand his role and drop deep to receive the ball. It was also evident in pre season. I hope he adapts, especially when playing with 2 defensive midfielders, the gap will always be there. Why doesn't he wsnt to play Mata or even Rooney in the hole?

I've never doubted 90min.com before so I see no reason to start now.

I like the new guy Memphis. Obvioulsy too early to draw any conclusion from 1 game but he has that confidence you need to play for United. And he does not hide and does not shy away from trying out new things.

Pedro (if or when he comes) will add to a significant strikeforce. It is slowly coming together. DDG staying (I would prefer keeping him even if we get the asking price £28m!!) , Smalling getting more confident, the midfield getting more defensively solid as well as more creative.

Once we get an experienced CB and a top striker, the rebuilding looks done.

A top striker huh, where would u play Rooney? I know Rooney is not the most lethal striker but it is really really difficult to drop him. With the talent we have in midfield it is pointless dropping Rooney to midfield. Let's face it we aren't getting any top striker, we are stuck with Rooney, at least for now.

I think the problem starts when Rooney isnt playing. 4 competitions, all of which could become very demanding in the latter stages if we get that far. I do think we need another top striker for that. But like you say I doubt we'll get one. Instead I actually see LVG using Pedro (if he comes) and Depay as strikers in big games if Rooney isnt playing.
