    Good Morning Everyone,

Leeds are holding fresh talks with Sam Byram about extending the 21 year olds contract. It currently runs out at the end of this season.

With a host of Premiership clubs waiting in the wings, I would certainly want at least a two year deal signed, sealed and delivered at the earliest possible moment.

Byram is now saying he is not looking to move on before the end of this transfer window.

Cellino asked Byram to accept a lengthy extension to his deal on a reduced weekly wage, in keeping with the contract signed by midfielder Luke Murphy last month.

So Byram is not keen to pledge his long term future on reduced wages. Can't imagine why?

    Thoughts?

Leeds make the short drip down to Donny tomorrow in the League Cup.

    Which players should be rested?

Who should be given a chance?

Honestly, I don't understand why Cellino would attempt to get a player that is clearly being tracked by premier league clubs to accept a reduced wage.

And my team for Donny would be:

    ------------------------Turnbull-----------------------

    Coyle-------Wootton-----Cooper-------Denton

    ------------Sloth----Phillips----Dawson-----------

    Walters--------------Erwin--------------Doukara

Dont want to get through to the next round then? I'd expect both Wood and Dallas to get some game time as the're behind the others. Would like to see Dawson given a chance as well.

Morning all, Wood and Dallas first 45 minutes for me, they need to get match fit Murphy a good 70 minutes figuring he won't start at the Weekend.

Good morning Matt and co from a very sunny Bardsey
Why on earth would Byram sign for less money I think that in Murphys case he was on far too much anyway
Who would I rest Silvestri Bamba Taylor Beradi Mowatt Cook Wood and Byram so my team or squad would be
Turnbull Bellusci Wootton Killock Cooper Sloth Murphy Phillips Erwin Antenucci Doukara Coyle Walters Aeyemi and Dawson
FROM LAST NIGHTS RESULTS Blackburn are going to have to recruit to stay up and Burnley with most of the team that played us lost to lowly Port Vale .Have Brentford made a mistake getting rid of Warburton I think so

I agree that perhaps Wood could play along with for 45 minutesbut this could be risky and Murphy for an hour

Morning all. Donny game is about as important as a pre season friendly or an u21 game in my opinion. Its a cup and we dont get anywhere in them anyway even in the good times. The only plus to Byram signing a new contract will be the extra money well get for him. Its clear, hes in his last season with us unless we win promotion but, thats football. Most clubs are like revolving doors now anyway. Used to be a time when clubs signed one or two during the summer, now its double figures with most

Don't care about the Capital One Cup personally. And don't want the players the get tired out before the season even starts to shape up.

Morning all and with regard to Byram he should just tell Cellino that he isn't Murphy and should have an improved contract, otherwise he will leave. Cellino isn't an idiot and if he is really expecting him to take a drop in wages, he wants him to leave!!

Maybe he is trying to force a move and get some silly money for him, or maybe I'm being cynical. Morning all.<ok>

It'll always be the League cup to me Josh. I personally want the club to win every game and a cup run is great craic IMO. As for the players getting tired, it's only the second match in.<ok>

Yea I want us to win every game, can still put a second team out though.

If we put the same team as against Burnley, I wouldn't expect them to be tired but if they play the same team for the next 4 or 5 weeks it can catch up with those midweek games. Personally I think its better to prioritise the league and rest players whenever possible.

PL teams will mainly put out second string squads and they have some chance of winning the thing. Why on earth should we bother fielding anything but a second string outfit when were only making up numbers anyway and the opposition is Doncaster

The potential earnings for the club can be very good if we can put a liitle cup run together. Rosler will be wanting to win this game for sure, it breeds confidence as well. As Shaks says, i want us to win every game. After watching our second strings the other night, i doubt we would beat lowly Donny with them.
