Great strike. They need him to have a big season if they are going to challenge.

Bony's looked a bit out of his depth at City. Or is that just me...?

In a heartbeat. If we're comparing their respective performances in the Premier League, Silva is a class above.

There was a point last season where I compared the two taking the total of ozils arsenal performances against the previous same number of games of silva and in there previous x number of games they had the same number of combined goals and assists. I don't remember at exactly what point of the season that was so it's most likely changed by now but they had similar numbers last time I checked!

Silva is more all action, ozil is more subtle, both play quite a free role. It'd be a tough decision but I'd stick with Ozil, he's created more chances than any player in the top five European leagues since 2008, he's performed in different teams in different leagues and internationally and is adapting to the league well now. He was quality after returning from injury last season.

I enjoy watching ozil play more than any of our other players I think, he is capable of things no-one else on the pitch is. That's not to say he is always the best player, or that others using more grit and determination don't contribute in other important ways, Sanchez for example scores loads, runs non stop, fights for the ball, he's a great player and our player of the season. But ozil plays the game beautifully, he has technique and style. He has an eye for a pass and the ability to pull off passes others wouldn't even try. Some of the assists with little flicks and tricks he has made whilst at Arsenal have been incredible to watch.

But he's not someone who drags you to victories when the team isn't playing well. If Arsenal don't play well, Ozil doesn't do anything.

Players like Silva, Aguero, Hazard and Sanchez make things happen on their own. For that reason I'd swap them in an instant.

It's all well and good looking at pure numbers, but if you look at how Silva makes City tick, glides past players, his weight of pass, his agility and the way he rarely ever loses possession carelessly like Ozil has done more than a player of his calibre should, you will see that Silva is comfortably better than him. Based on their form in the Premier League that is. As mentioned above, he is also a match winner. Ozil goes into hiding.

If we do sell him in Jan or in the Summer of 2016, there's no way anyone could make a compelling case for him being a success for us. He's been well below the standard I expected of him.

Ozil is a fantastic player but he's a bit of a luxury. He is like a Rolls Royce, beautiful to watch and gets you to your destination in pristine fashion, providing the conditions are right. He was great for Real due to him having great players around him and him being in the right conditions. Sanchez is the polar opposite to Ozil, he is a proper old school battler. He can play in any conditions and he excels when the chips are down and things are tough. Sanchez is an essential player for us whereas Ozil is the cherry on top.

Overall a **** weekend with most of our rivals winning it should have been us just like city who started the season with a statement instead we ****ing fall short when it matters as we usually do when it matters.

As for ozil he needs to step it up this year and do far more than he did vs west ham.

True he does, and he was very disappointing against the Hammers, but then the whole team bar Oxo was - we could blame Giroud for all our ills yesterday, or Ozil but that doesn't excuse the pee-poor defensive display, Cech's howlers and the midfields inability to pass the ball or protect the defence.

I have to say though I am becoming more convinced that Santi should stay in the centre as a foil to Coq, with Ramsey further forward - even though on the flank isn't Ramsey's best position, he's in a better position to use his late runs into the box/at the defence, and can interchange well with Ozil/Walcott/Sanchez.

You see i find it hard to give Ozil a pass when he is worth so much. You expect your star players to do something special, to pick things up and change things on the pitch. Sanchez for me is those kind of players, but I find that Ozil disappears when things aren't working. Thankfully, Sanchez has proved that nothing fazes him.

I agree with you on Santi playing deeper with Coqs, I think there is a problem with playing too many CMs in our team, like it was against West Ham. They do the same thing and end up falling all over each other because they all want to occupy the centre. Either have Cazorla in the centre pulling the strings or Ozil.

I'm a bit jealous we couldn't get Di Maria. Di Maria, Ozil, Sanchez would have been beastly.

Could have part funded it by selling one of our plethora of midfielders. Wilshere to City for £40m or something.

Ah well... At least we'll use the funds instead on a top striker... Hmm...

We are working on the principle of Wilshere's potential, and that he is English. It would have made equal sense to sell him on for £40m. You could buy someone like Goetze or Isco for that and still have change to part finance a striker.

I agree I would love to have had Di Maria in the team, and we would have properly utilised him - not lumped the ball over him to Fellaini!

He really is a nasty and vile human being. The thing is you would rather trust a qualified doctor's judgment in this situation over a manager. Especially when it comes to a player's wellbeing and safety. Better to be safe than sorry. Not that Maureen cares.

If Maureen ever needs any urgent medical help, the Paramedics should just go for a Pint and a Kebab instead
